The movie and the book are amazing. One of those stories that is sort of a lesson: don't pick on people or they might just pick back!

enjoy the book more because of the description qualities S.King is known for, and the original movie wasn't as 90's teen horror as #2.. which is why I like #2 movie more

i take one star away because even tho it was a really good movie it did not match up very well to the book there were alot of drastic changes in the looks of charaecters and such ....

This was one of the best film adaptations of a Stephen King novel.

Highly recommended. happy

Scarah

I can watch this movie over and over, and honestly not get tired of it. It's a classic and the MOTHER oh God, she was the 70's version of the GOD WARRIOR mom from Trading Spouses.

John Travolta's acting made me want to kill myself, but besides that, hella great movie.

frazzlesnazzle

It scared the crap out of me when I was younger. Now I can watch it without hiding my face in a pillow for the scary parts.

classic movie indeed, a fair adaptation of the book and for the time a daring movie to have made.

it has inspired many idea's (and some blatant rip off's) as well as becomeing a pop cuture refferance

not AS good as the book but as book adaptations go it was a good job (especialy for 1976)

This adaptation of Stephen King's novel is about a misfit teenager that is tormented by her school and her peers realization that she has the gift of telekinesis.

Carrie lives with her uber controlling and religious mother and attends a high school where everyone hates her. When she is invited to the prom by one of the popular boys in her class, she thinks that maybe she can finally be normal and fit in. Well, she was way wrong!

Classic horror film that will live on for generations to come. I love the fact that in the end the nerd gets revenge on all her tormentors. A lesson to all: Watch how you treat people, it might come back to bite you in the ass!

Check out the book. It is a bit different format. It is set up to take place after the prom incident and it is interviews with the survivors and people that knew Carrie that tell the story of what happened at the prom and the events leading up to it.
