DUBCOMM [CANADA]
DCS905 / Gun Recordings / CHC / CIVILIAN CLOTHING / 89.5 FM

Across the spectrum of drum'n'bass, it is said that only the strong will survive. DCS905
mastermind and CEO Tyler ”Dubcomm" Metford is a shining example of this statement.
Full time producer, DJ, graphic designer, promoter, and all around purveyor of drum'n'bass
music, his ascent from underground obscurity on the outskirts of Toronto to the forefront
of its once again unyeilding electronic music movement has been a natural progression, so
to speak. Amalgamating his networking skills with computer knowledge and a love for rave
culture and music, Dubcomm has spent the better part of the last decade working the dnb
party circuit in the concrete jungle of Toronto.

He was quick to soak in the sounds and culture of the scene and soon began to develop a
hunger to create and further the sounds that were coming out of Toronto at the time. After
graduating from one of Toronto's most prestigious media colleges with a degree in audio
engineering, the music he was creating began to drastically improve as he pumped out
banger after banger. Early on in his career, he caught the attention of Impure Productions
who had a wildly popular weekly event at a club-district venue called Mad Bar. Dubcomm
soon became a regular performer at Mad Bar, opening up for big name acts from all corners
of the globe. He & partner DJ Faktah also won a prominent mix competition early in his
DJing career, put on by Torontojungle.com

2002 brought the formation of DCS905, a group of artists selected by Dubcomm that possess
100% dedication to promoting "the Future of Toronto's Drum and Bass." After
throwing several diverse events on their own, as well as collaborating with many of
Toronto's finest artists and promoters, the DCS905 crew has developed a sound of its own,
heavily influenced by the "techy" drum'n'bass sounds from the UK and across
Eastern Europe and parts of the United States, which many purists refer to as "tekno
dnb".

Dubcomm produces a prime-time radio slot on 89.5FM Saturday nights in Toronto, featuring
DCS905's resident roster of artists, DJs and performers, as well as special guests and
international exclusives which air each and every week. The show is considered to be a
staple of the Toronto drum'n'bass community. He has also headlined events in virtually
every city in Southern Ontario, and received international attention for his intricately
produced tracks.

Keep watch for his production projects, as Dubcomm put together the label launch tracks
for US based Gun Recordings, and is currently building an EP project for the same label.
He also has forthcoming projects including collaborations with Catacomb, Jeph & Symbiant.
