Bio:
Devon Bekaert began his career promoting for a small two-man company called
"New Millennium," in Chatham Ontario. The "New Millennium" was a
success
expanding into London Ontario, throwing several sold out parties. With this company
Devon gained his first residency as a DJ. The company, along side Delirium (Toronto)
in 1994 created "Groove Magazine", Canada's first full color rave magazine.
Devon
took on the promoting of this new publication and saw it reach several communities
promoting rave culture in the area.

With the success Devon found from promoting, he expanded to new horizons and alone
at the age of 16 threw a sold out rock concert with two well known headlining acts from
Toronto and a few well known local bands. Devon's love and determination to develop
his craft motivated him to leave home at the age of 17 and travel to Toronto to further
pursue his DJ career in a more professional manner. Devon's fierce determination to
expand his DJ career, led him to utilize his promotional skills by making demo tapes and
tackling small companies to gain residency in Toronto.

Due to his geniune love of music he accepted his first bookings playing for free. By this
he established himself within the up and coming DJ community. For the next two years he
gained a reputable status in the DJ community and received weekly bookings for sold out
events. DJ Nonchalante saw his aspirations unfold as he played along side international
DJ's
and became a solid fixture in the rave community. After a couple of years of being booked
by other companies, Devon was ready to take on his own business venture. DJ Nonchalante
and his MC (NAI), obtained a residency on Friday nights at a popular Drum & Bass club
called "The Beat Junkie"; it was here, the Regiment Crew was born. DJ
Nonchalante and
MC NAI started to recruit new DJ's and help them establish their names and careers. After
the "Beat Junkie" closed, DJ NONCHALANTE sought out venues to host a new weekly
night.
He chose a bar called "Audio Werks Lounge" in the heart Toronto's club district.
This is where
"Principal Tuesdays" began, presented by the Regiment Crew and sponsored by
Double
Clothing. Devon's versatility as a DJ has evolved through the genres of Ghetto Tech, Drum
and
Bass and now Hip Hop gaining him recognition in both Canada and the USA.

Known for his flawless skills, energized live sets, and charismatic personality DJ
Nonchalante
keeps pushing his musical boundaries and accepting new challenges.
