Hey guys--- sorry there haven't been any gig updates--- I'm kind of on dj-ing vacation
right now... Just got Married, Moved, and I'm in grad school and working full time. I
should be back on track and back on schedule some time after december 2007.

I miss you all!

DJ FORTA BIO:

Forta's musical influences stem from her diverse taste in music. Electronic music receives
the highest rotation in her listening library, but she grew up in the age of electronic
music and has very diverse, eclectic musical tastes.

Forta has been showcased along with headliners Uberzone, John B, DJ Rap, Frankie Bones,
Christopher Lawrence, Lange, Pulsar, Commander Tom, Yves Deruyter, Graham Gold, Lee
Mullin, Chris Liberator, VinylGroover, Suzy Solar, DJ Dayhota, Miss Money Penney, OS/2,
Dr. Trance, S4, DRC, Grimace, Drag N Fly, Hatiras, Analog Pussy, Dj Trajic, Rob Solo, Jes
One, Freaky Flow and more.

As her dj-ing resume has grown, so has her record collection. Forta's diverse sets can
range from funky electro and techno to harder, banging techno. Her ability to read a crowd
and her crowd pleasing, unique track selection have earned her headlining slots at events
across North America.

Aside from being seen playing large events, Forta can be seen the 1st and 3rd Saturday of
every month at Prespa, Buffalo's swanky-european styled lounge, and as a rotating resident
at Buffalo's Opium Lounge.

**2000**

where did it all begin?

The obsession started March 25th, 2000...at at Dose: Connected 3.0 in Toronto, Ontario.
The first proper "rave" that Erin ever attended... she'd never seen anything
like it! Thousands of people, grooving to the same sounds. With the twist of a knob, and
the right track from his bag, DJ Paul Oakenfold had the crowd of thousands in the palm of
his hand.

Immediately after returning to Buffalo, Erin contacted Phlux Productions and actively
became a part of the Western New York electronic music scene. Promoting and working with
Phlux gave Erin the chance to learn and understand the workings of party promotions and dj
bookings. It became her passion.

**2001**

first gig...

March 31st 2001, exactly one year from the date when Erin began her dj-ing dreams, marked
the much anticipated debut of DJ FORTA. Erin shared the bill that night with headliner S4
from Ottowa, Canada. Her style of music at the time fell into the category of
progressive/techy trance.

Forta immediately made the jump to playing out of town. Her next two bookings were in
Rochester, New York at The Bug Jar and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she shared the bill
with DJ Frankie Bones at Sinister Assembly.
**2002**

gaining popularity...

A New Beginning, the Buffalo New Year's Eve party that rang in the year 2002, was another
jumping off point in Forta's career. Her epic and progressive track selection, combined
with her on-point mixing, had the hometown crowd going crazy.

July 2002 marked her triumphant return to Rochester when she played at the
much-anticipated annual birthday party party for DJ Flex.

That summer marked the two-year point on the timeline of Forta's dj-ing career. Her
crowd-rocking performance at the World Electronic Music Festival on August 2nd in Canada
in the Tribe Magazine New Talent Tent showed that she was more than ready to be playing at
the international level. The WEMF crowd fell in love, and no one could stand still while
Forta meticulously mixed her special blend of relentless beats.

In September, Toronto's clubing and nightlife magazine, Tribe Magazine reviewed Forta's
Hypnotic Progression CD. They described it as "Fantastic" and commented on her
style of tracks with "arpeggiated synth sweeps" and "elastic
basslines". Shortly after her review was published she made a headlining appearance
in Welland, Ontario alongside several Toronto and Southern Ontario local dj's.

Forta's style and sound has progressed and matured, her sets have grown to incorporate
more funk, electro and techno sounds.
**2003*

travelling...

In May of 2003 she rocked Raleigh, North Carolina, headlining at a party at The Office
alongside North Carolina dj's Phat Rabbit and Elucid. May 2003 also brought Forta to Erie,
Pennsylvania where she headlined "Just beCAUSE" a benefit for SafeNet Women's
Shelter, at Forward Hall. Her solid set had everyone in the room on their feet, dancing
frantically. The promoter Jason Imig (Subsurface Productions) commented at the end of the
night that he'd never seen the crowd at that venue that worked up, and dancing that
hard... ever! The Erie, Pennsylvania Daily Newspaper, the Erie Times interviewed Forta and
published two articles about her that weekend.

The summer of 2003 also had Forta heading back to Rochester for the her second installment
of Flex's Birthday Party.

Her first Toronto appearance was in September of 2003 where she headlined, Ondafly's
"Reform" at the Comfort Zone. She shared the bill with Toronto favorites,
Unabomber and Mike Conradi and several other Toronto locals. Her performance was so
impressive that she was invited back to headline the Sourkee "True Love III"
annual Valentines party, on February 14th 2004.

**2004**

electro-techno-funk is born

Late 2004 marked her first Darkrave appearance, and she rang in 2005 with a special
electro tag-set with Toronto's infamous DJ Unabomber. Her 2005 calendar has been booked
tightly, with several pending Canadian appearances before the end of the year, as well as
her residencies.
