I'm just that guy you see here and there in the Toronto Queen St. W. clubs, nothing really
special. The one you've seen lots of times but don't really know except as that "Oh
yeah, him, I see him around all the time, dunno who he is." guy. I've met a bunch of
people over the years though, and kindly on their part they call me friend. I try to fool
myself into thinking I am shy, introverted, and aloof, but yet I always seem to be saying
hello and chatting to people I know either well or merely acquainted with. Or in following
a rule of thumb I have in meeting two new people every time I go out, I introduce myself
to people I don't know. Go figure.
In the Society for Creative Anachronism I am THL Randwulf Widefarer. On LiveJournal I am
Randwulf. On IAM.bmezine I am Randwulf. On TorontoRaves and Tribe I am Randwulf. See a
pattern here? Heh heh heh. Because someone on Vampire Freaks already has Randwulf I'm went
with Lord_Randwulf there. Oh well. Oh yeah, I'm also on MySpace as well. If you're net
savvy at all you can track me down.
At Fetish Masquerades I am that vanilla fellow who doesn't "play" but is
friendly with a lot who do. I'm a die-hard regular of DarkRaves only having missed 4 of
them of the 6 years of going to them. I'm a Friday night semi-regular at Savage Garden. A
longtime fan, I can almost always be seen in the audience of Vampire Beach Babes concerts
and they seem to like my amatuerish photos of them so they are gracious enough to post
them on their site. I was also a longtime regular at Red Square (Red Square est mort!) in
St. Catharines and bounced easily and regularly between the St. Catharines and Toronto
goth scenes but now I'm limited to the Toronto scene.
While I have been kinda sorta in the goth scene for the last 8 or 9 years I can't claim
elder goth status on that basis alone. But being my age I kinda sorta can. I'm long past
the age of taking myself too seriously and it carries over into my goth life in not taking
it too seriously either. I am just as apt to be dressed in head to toe PVC as I am in
wearing dark pants and dark shirt with obnoxious white UV reactive swirls all over it or a
tiger print shirt. Why? To point out to you that we are all different, and we as goths
can't claim to be truly different from everyone else, if we're all dressed the same!
