Purerave and my time on here:

It has been less and less in the past while, though I still think about here and about
everyone that I've been thankful to get to know over the past years.

Currently I am in my 5th year of my apprenticeship (last year WooHoo!! So excited), and
have 2 'intakes' of schooling to attend - Intermediate and Advanced and then off to write
the *insert big voice here* EXaM...

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN I
DEFINITION

Under close supervision, I do anything and everything associated with the installation,
maintenance, and repair of
industrial electrical systems and equipment; and to do related work as required.
Basically I get to work in really cool and unique work environments... Every day offers a
new challenge and almost always learning new skills (though I’m always learning something
new each and every day) */end run on babbling and/or run-on sentence.

TYPICAL TASKS

Assists an Industrial Electrician II or III in the installation, maintenance, and repair
of electrical systems and equipment;
monitors equipment and associated controls as a part of the preventive maintenance
program; replaces and/or repairs
lighting fixtures throughout industrial plants;BLaH BlaH BLaH!

Working conditions may include inside and outside work in inclement weather, climbing
ladders and scaffolding, and descending underground.

Oh, did I mention THe HaZaRDS of high voltage electrical shock?? - well,
just kidding really - I always think of SaFeTy first, and we are not allowed to work on
live wires (it does have to happen from time to time) though accidents do happen.

Knowledge of basic electrical theory and the functioning and maintenance of electrical
motors and controls; knowledge of
the tools, materials and testing equipment used in the electrical trade; extensive
knowledge of safety regulations and accident
prevention practices...

I work with blueprints and schematics all the time. Build stuff, go for coffee.. Lotsa
fun stuff...

Don’t believe all that hazardous and life threatening schtuff... I love my job and live
each and every day to it’s fullest..


And.... I do believe I have more to put in here...

Though that will come later... cause there are soooo many wonderful people that I’ve been
ever so lucky to hang out and keep in touch with...
