I'll always love Linkin Park, no matter what, lol. I think this album is their best yet. I loved almost all of the songs and thought it was a very well written album.

Hoooly hell is this album ever boring.
I'm all for bands stretching their creative boundaries and experimenting, but good lord... it's like they brought the new super-contemporary Backstreet Boys on board and collaborated.
It's all bark and no bite. Too much message, not enough to back it up. I loved Linkin Park because they were about bringing something different... something edgy.
I've heard all of this 100 times before. I really think they took 6 steps back on this one.
I like (not love) 2 tracks. That's it. I don't even have to name them, just take the two that are the only ones above 10 bpm. Seriously.
I'm really floored that people are actually really digging this CD... I just don't get it. I don't get it at all.

So this is the best album of 2007. Linkin Park is the most original and innovative bands of our time, if not all time. Minutes to Midnight crosses boundaries that no other bands do. Mix things together that you normally don't hear together. When They first arrived on the scene they turned peoples heads with the combinations they blended. Keeping the same ethic in mind, Minutes to Midnight is an Instant classic...And a must buy for any music fanatic.

You have to remember with Linkin Park, every album they do sounds completely different. Thats one thing I definitely enjoy about them. I just picked up the new album, and I love it. As always with Linkin Park, very powerful lyrics.
I would definitely recommend this album!

Let me just say first of all, if you're looking for a traditional Linkin Park CD, you should probably go throw on Meteora or Hybrid Theory, because this is NOT a traditional LP album.
Mike Shinoda's hip hop style vocals, which really helped to give Linkin Park their trademark sound are noticeably absent. He appears on very few tracks throughout the CD. Also mostly gone are the heavy, fast paced driving tunes, replaced mostly with ballad tunes in the same vein as Breaking The Habit or In The End. If you've heard the lead single What I've Done, you've got a good idea of what the rest of the CD sounds like.
There are still some nice hard tracks for the oldschool LP fans though. The lead off track Given Up is more traditional LP, with lots of screaming and driving guitars, as is No More Sorrow. No More Sorrow is especially good. The music itself is somewhat reminiscent of Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People, until the chorus hits.
And don't think Mike Shinoda is completely gone from the album. Hands Held High features Shinoda taking the lead, as does In Between, which has him and Chester Bennington singing a bit of a duet.
I'm all for bands experimenting with new sounds and styles, but I think Linkin Park took it a bit too far with this one, almost entirely reinventing themselves to sound more like the Killers than anything else
That's not to say that the CD is bad. If you completely ignore the fact that it's Linkin Park it's really an enjoyable CD. So looking at it from that standpoint, I'll rate it 4/5. Definitely worth picking up, but like I said if you're looking for a hip hop/metal hybrid album, go look somewhere else.
