Not Trent's best work, but it's something with a new and wonderful edge to it. It's something I'd probably only recommend to an already established Nine Inch Nails fan, just because Fragile, or Downward Spiral are so much better to introduce his kind of music.

Its some Goodness, but if your looking for a Great NiN CD you may as well leave this one to pick up later. Its more timely and is more into freedom and the Police state, but your not gonna rock out to it as much as his older CDs. Its worth getting for part of the NiN collection but don't expect to be blown away to hard.

the initial reaction of most when listening to the cd year zero by nine inch nails wasnt good.....I on the other hand think it's fucking AMAZING...simply fucking AMAZING...a work of electronic art plain and fucking simple.
Trent Reznor has never disappointed me, since I was 11 years old...he has never disappointed me musically. He is such an amazing artist...it's like it paints a vivid illustration in my mind of exactly what he's thinking. It's like watching a film through sound.

Makes up for "ah-With-ah-Teeth-ah" by a LONGSHOT.
Fantastic concept, great tunes, and an interesting new direction. It's no "Broken" or "The Fragile", but pretty damn ace as is.
Track Highlight: The Great Destroyer
TRENT REZNOR DOES DIRTY BREAKS. The second half of the song comes out of NOWHERE.

the new album year zero...... on a whole after my first listen i am impressed. its a good album great concept and musicly its close to the spiral. i would liked it to have been a quicker album. feels like maybe 4 tracks were cut. but all and all a godo listen and will be the god of my computer for many moons

It's obviously not a masterpiece like The Fragile. It's not on par with Downward Spiral or PHM... and it's better than With Teeth. I'm a hugely biased individual, but this album isn't all that great. I really only dig on a couple of tracks. I like the half-step of Me, I'm Not... bout it.

its horrible... The worse NIN cd to date... Im glad the rest of NIN's fans love it though. Its just not for me .... The cd is way too god damn slow. There is no heavy or catchy songs... Trents scream doesnt exist on this cd at all. I just dont get how all of you are loving this cd so much ??? Maybe if you love his voice enough to enjoy hearing him TALK QUIETLY over a boring slow all over the place beat
Heres what Im saying... I say DRUGS MAKE A PERSON who they are.... I like trent alot better on the Booze and Drugs. Its just not the same band anymore.... I really wished he would stop calling all this music NIN that he has made since the fragile/still because it sounds nothing like NIN. I dunno maybe it has alot to do with being obsessed with a band for so long, waiting 6-7 years for cds, having them over charge for everything, and having NIN ditch their image and everything they once stood for... But yeah NIN should of retired after the Fragility tour was over .
I agree with the only person above to say something negative. Trent definately is a washed up burn out!!!!

i think this time he sort of experimented a little more. It's heavily industrial, but there is a side of funk in there too. Kind of fucked up. And Capital G; the intro sounds exactly like the Jackson 5 track 'the way you make me feel.' or what ever it's called. seriously listen to them both.

Its like an orgasm on a CD.....I'm so loving it. I never would have but my bf who is a hugh NIN fan made me listen to it and I now I can't get enough of it...

its industrial as fuck, nice but I really wish if he is gonna go that route fully he needs to get back on the horse.

This album is pure sex
Every single song is amazing! The whole concept of the album is amazing. Trent is amazing!!!!!!

Amazing. Truely better than With Teeth. The Good Soldier is amazing and is one of those songs that makes my chest want to open up and have blinding white light come pouring out of it. But there are 15 other amazing tracks as well. This is the best thing to come out in music since with teeth and i dought anything as good or better than this will come out untill trent makes another one.

Its different, its noisy, and it has genius written all over it!
I'm enjoying most of the songs from this album.....especially the good soldier!
I understand why Reznor is taking this direction. No more screaming but the songs are still very well put together. Hes getting older but I hope he sticks around to create many more albums.

havent heard the album yet but i will definitely give that Survivalism tune 5 stars. if the rest of the album is as good (or better) i'm sold.
