SheriffKevin

this album was garbage. they'll never touch the first 3 albums (Mushroomhead, Superbuick, and M3) especially without popson

fortunately, he jumped ship just in time and has moved on to much better things

Its their worse cd to date but its still a good effort and attempt at having a career after losing the most talented member they had in the band J Mann (jason popson) aka The old Screamer/Rapper of the band who sported the Dead Presidents Make Up...

The new Vocalist Waylon isnt nearly as good and lacks the overall Passion and Intensity that only J MANN could bring to the table. Waylon now sings and does Harmoic Dueting with Jeffrey Nothing (other Vocalist and Original member). Though lots of ppl like this harmonic melodic collaboration I prefer the old school Mushroomhead vocal method. J Mann Screams while Jeff Nothing Sings , J Mann Raps while Nothing Sings, Or they would both SCREAM lol. Saviour Sorrow lacks screaming and there is way more singing on the cd than there should be!!!

Its not just the vocals that arent as good on this cd compared to ALL their previous material... They Keyboards arent as good as well. The bass, guitar, and drums are all still ace and sound awesome on this cd.

But dont let my review scare you away lol. Mushroomhead is my ALL TIME FAV BAND bubt like most Metallica Fans I love and worship their older material aka the material they have had from 93-04 with J Mann.

Check out their 6 other cds first I say ... Kyle (pericite) said in his review that they have 2 previous cds which isnt true. They do have 2 other internationally released cds (XIII and XX) but they have 4 cds that were indie self made cds before those 2 major ones ( Mushroomhead (self titled), Superbuick, M3, and Remix 2000)

Superbuick and M3 are their best 2 cds out of them all by far and you can easily find them to either download or you can buy them off their site www.mushroomhead.com

I agree.

It's not nearly as good as older Mushroomhead.
Yet it's still good.

It does sound weak without J Mann, and it won't be the same.

I must say, even though this album is pretty great. I'm still somewhat disapointed. This just isn't the same as old mushroomhead. It almost sounds weak without the addition of J manns voice. Oh well it's still pretty good. But don't let this turn you off mushroomhead if you've never heard them before this. Their past two albums were much better.
