I this album for my boyfriend, and I made a copy for myself as well... I'm not too impressed.

Best album in 20 years. PERIOD.
But seriously...wow...the more I listen to this album the more amazing it gets. I love how they have a TOTALLY new theme with this album, different than their last album "Hot Fuss". It's amazing...and I can't wait to find out the theme of their next album and see how amazing they'll pull it off.

Man...I wish there was a '.5' option on the raitings. If there were one, this record would get a two and a half.
After several listens at work, I can't help but feel that Mr. Flowers and the gang just kind of gave up. Though 'Hot Fuss' was not a 'Landmark' album, it had spunk. 'Sam's Town' is a bit of a ghost town.
Don't get me wrong, they've tried super hard, but the depth is minimal, and production value is lacking. 'When You Were Young' is one catchy track that I'm sure we'll see a lame top 40 mix or two out of, but really, it simply winds up being a mediocore single to an extremely mediocore album.
Sorry Brnedan...You handsome, handsome boy.

I was a big fan of the Killers' sound on their first album and it took me a few listens before Sam's Town grew on me. It's a slightly different direction with a sound more akin to their live performances than the engineered instruments and synths we're used to. Personal favourites include: For Reasons Unknown, and Read My Mind.

I enjoyed the new When you were young song...until the media played the shit out of it...like they did with the rest of the killers songs. It's a shame tho, The Killers are a half decent band..its just too bad that radio/media has to make their songs as annoying as Nickleback songs.
