i really have been enjoying the evolution of their music and style. i think that it represents personal changes in the musicians themselves as well as gives a deeper look when examining all they've done over the years.
the album only makes me anticipate the next even more.

I think the new Modest mouse album is amazing! It's very well put together, although the tracks are a lot cleaner than previous MM albums. Nonetheless though, I think this album kicks ass! I'm actually quite curious to see what MM can evolve into. They have extraordinary talent that they can pretty much apply to anything that they work with and they excel at it. Don't hate MM because they're trying new things! I would hate having to hear the same stuff over and over again from them. That's like asking them to just put "Stars are Projectors (Revised)" or some bullshit on the radio for the next 40 years and never come out with anything again. It's wrong to hate them for being so badass and keeping the real MM fans on our toes. I love them for that!!
I definitely agree that the album should be seen live (at least once) to get the grittiness of MM songs live. I'm pretty convinced that seeing them live is one of the best things on earth to do.
& listen to "Parting of the Sensory" while inebriated because I guarantee you it will mindfuck you.

I wasn't expecting bullshit from a band I THOUGHT I enjoyed... But, things change, life moves on... bands evolve or don't. Either way, thumbs up for having the balls to record and put it out on the market.

First I'm going to say that I like old Modest Mouse better, but I'm listening to this album right now actually. Actually been listening to it for the past few days now and I must say it kicks ass! You can't go wrong with Modest Mouse thats for sure. Constantly amazing millions they are. I recently saw them live as well and they were great.

definitely different than the rest of modest... but still brilliantly AMAZING like the rest of modest. some people say they don't like it but if they were true modest fans they'd stick with them through and through.. i believe this album was made to be played LIVE (seen it twiceeee) because there's so much fucking energy involved.i love it & i'll always love modest

love it love it love it.
Definitely turning around the rather constant occurances of cd's with one good song whilst the rest is shit.
Favorites: March into the sea, Dashboard, we've got everything, fire it up.....
i could go on but i'd end up naming all the songs on it.
