One of my favorite movies ever created!
Love the whole written part as well as the characters. I believe that it's very enjoyable in many different ways.

I own this movie on DVD because it's the kind of movie that I can watch multiple times. I identify with a lot of the characters being that I have Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. I love Angelina Jolie too. Great performances by all the cast. Stupid ending.

Amazing movie with a killer message... I've been in mental hospitals, and you DO find crazy, crazy, PSYCHO friends... All in all, one of my favorites, that's why I have it in my DVD Library, bitches.

favorite movie of all time. winona and angelina are definitely at their best in this i think.. i have to say this is one of the only movies that is ALMOST as good as the book

This movie is an adaptation of a biographical novel written by Susanna Kaysen. It takes place in the 60's, when Susanna is 18 and signs herself into a psychiatric hospital after a failed suicide attempt. The movie follows her through her diagnosis as a Borderline Personality, as well as the friendships that develop between her and the other patients.
This is an amazing movie starring Wynona Ryder, Angelina Jolie, Brittany Murphy, Whoopie Goldberg, among others. It is a comedy as well as a dramatic film and really shows you what it is like to be in a mental institution, both the positive and the negative.
I've also read the book and I definately recommend that as well!
***Angelina Jolie won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1999 for her role in the movie.***
