This movie was not lame or boring. Everyone was disappointed by it because they were expecting a typical scary movie, which was NOT what this was. The emphasis on the court room scenes were done on purpose. Rather than condemning the movie for what it wasn't, why doesn't everyone look at what it was?

it was really dumb and i laughed at most of the parts when she was flipping out...but one part scared me everytime... when shes sitting in the class room and alluva sudden that guy freaking turns all freaky...lol ah. but it was prettttty lame.

Well I saw it when no one else was in the movie theater except for me and Paul..so we got to scream and laugh all we want.
That made it amazing...but not a good movie to stay quiet through haha.

i think the movie focused entirely too much on everything else, other than the point the previews attempted to make. aside from the fact that the previews pretty much gave away every good scene of the movie - and completely manipulated the audiance

i liked this movie. even though not too many ppl liked the courtroom scene i did. since no one would really believe the posibility of demons or possession. only scientific facts.
i thought this movie was very creepy. i even went on the internet and read the actual case of it. i think it was some german girl named annilese( i think i spelled that wrong)
but it was really crazy. poor girl.
and with everything that is wrong with the world today--why couldn't anyone believe in demons.
i thought this movie was good. and very creepy.
especially when the part where she was in a pretzel position on the floor. *shivers* creepiness i say.

There were some cool things in the movie, but I was expecting something more. The problem with the movie is that it was based on the court case that happened after, so everyone was expecting something exorcist'y and they ended up having to watch court crap.

It wasnt meant to be your typical slasher horror film - its a film to make you think, to question your faith to really think about the 2 sides of the court case and think about who you believe - was she truely just insane or was she posessed....
Stop thinking of this movie as a "horror" rewatch it and analize what happened in the court room. Take some time to read the story behind the movie. I look forward to seeing the German movie - hopefully they will release it here with subtitles.

I found it to be an interesting flick that kept my attention.
I really enjoyed that it worked on two levels, both as a horror movie and a courtroom drama.
Damn good movie, well worth the $10 I spent on the DVD (thank yooooooooooou Rogers Video)

I was disappointed with this film. I went into it expecting a real shocker but left feeling disappointed. There were some cool scenes, but for the most part it wasn't scary. I will say though that for a PG-13 movie it was good. In reality though, after the Exoricist there really is no place to go but down.

Creepy fun, although take the fact that this was "based on a true story" with a huge chunk of salt.
Enjoy it for what it is, a nice creepy possession story. They took a lot of dramatic license with the real-life story of Anneliese Michel, a girl in 60's Germany ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anneliese_Michel ).... but like I said, just watch it for the creep-out scenes that sneak up on you.

Horribly pathetic movie. That is all. It's so boring and the ONLY scary parts are in the trailer, and the way that they are placed in the movie aren't even scary anymore. VERY poorly done. It seems as if they were just trying to make money off a true told story, and they cared NOTHING for the actual film making.

Ok, I went into this movie thinking that it was going to be some kind of Exorcist rip off, and by the end I was blown away.
While it was not the best movie on the subject, the lead actresses perfomance was well done and beyond.

When you hear the word exorcism you think okay cool there's going to be some sweet stand off with the dark forces of evil and a priest.
Well, there's a bit of that. But this movie is more along the lines of Law and Order meets The Exorcist with a pinch of The Ghost Busters and Ali Mcbeal.
Exorcism of Emily Rose should have been call People Vs. "The demons"
P.S. ANY courtroom drama when the case is going to be made by a key witness. Who happens to be introduced more than half way into the film will die. x_X
