I watched this movie with my friend when I was really stoned. I remember laughing so hard I thought I was going to die. haha. I'm afraid to watch it sober because I'm sure it isn't nearly as funny as we thought it was.

So very overrated.
The "funny" parts were far past weak.
Honestly, this movie made me want to smash my skull into a baby panda's.

This movie made me want to eat Kittens. In fact, based purely on my hate for this movie, I would literally beat my cat up every time it's preview was shown on TV.

I agree with Rob, there are plenty of other movies that should have the "best picture" dealy... and let me tell you "Departed" is not one of them... YOU CAN'T WIN BEST PICTURE IF IT'S ALREADY BEEN MADE!!! best director for sure, but not best picture!

This movie was really well thought out, I think the reason I liked it most is because even though the family was so disfunctional they worked together. The best part in the whole movie, is when they stop for ice cream...

This was a really unique movie! I loved the Superfreak dance at the end, and the never-ending horn when they get pulled over almost made me cry....So good!

It was pretty good with a few funny moments...Alan Arkin as the drugy Grampa was really funny though  ....But NOT worth a "best picture" nomination by any means.

I thought this movie was very funny. The womanizing grandfather, the I don't want to be a loser father.. the suicidal uncle.. haha the best family movie ever.

I thought this movies was excellent. Here you have family that goes through sad tragedies and failure yet somehow managed to pull through in the end out of Love for each other. The finale of the movie with Olive and her dance routine was absolutely fantastic. The movies says yes the world can be frighteningly mean and cruel yet when we have people that love us in our lives it all really doesn't matter. That we should be thankful in our lives to have people who are willing to stick up for us when things go wrong. Also the whole cast's acting was spectacular! Honorable mention to Steve Carell & Toni Collette!

no idea why they call this a comedy. cute, yes, but i don't think it was intended to be hilarious or anything. wonderful movie, very positive. i'm looking forward to watching it again.

It WAS cute yes, but the whole time Kyle and I watched it like "Wait, is this a comedy?"
The very few parts that WERE supposed to be funny were weak. I was bored and mostly thought about what I was going to do tomorrow.
Another reminder of why I don't like movies.

I quite enjoyed this movie. It was endearing and showed the inner workings of the family are the same no matter how dysfunctional a unit may seem. Excellent performances, heartwarming, and hilarious. Even the running joke (ha, literally) didn't get old or anything.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE! It's so funny and so endearing at the same time. All of the characters are fantasticly odd in their own way and cast amazingly well. Especially Abigail Breston, who plays the little girl, Olive....she is incredible! I was also really happy to see Toni Collette again. I loved her in Muriels Wedding and I haven't see too much with her in it since that. This is a fantastic story about this families trek across the country to fulfill a dream for Olive, while enduring some major trials and tribulations along the way. I absolutely loved the way this story was told and pieced together. The cinematography is also FANTASTIC, as is the soundtrack! Do yourself a favor, WATCH THIS MOVIE!
