the ideas and thoughts behind it were awsome, i loved the deep social, environmental and political reasoniing and thoughts of the movie
but i really cant say that it was carried out in all the right ways, it left me we with questions that were not answerd......the endin was weak at best in my eyes

definitelt not what i expected. but in a good way.
it really defined the worst case senario. and i guess alot of people didn't like the end, but i'm naturally a really angsty person, so i loved that he died in the end, it gave it the kinda feel of 'i died for a just cause' which i have a strange romantacisum for i guess. it was very action packed, plenty of bends and twists in the story. i just thought it was an all around great movie. i couldn't have asked for a better movie with a better ending

Really good start if I may say. Didn't expect that at all. I thought it said a very powerful message (especially when she walks the baby through all the fighting). The ending was kinda weak though.

Children of Men was an alright movie. Nothing entirely thought provoking but definately entertaining. It is definately NOT the Bladerunner for our generation as it is toted to be. However, I did like it a lot. It was pretty interesting.

I wasn't expecting much but from the outset I could feel the difference in the film making.

The backgrounds were amazing, made the movie and story seem real.

All of the subtleties were great as well. Tidbits of technology we don't quite have yet and such.

I'm glad there was no definite answer to the infertility problem. I think the point of the movie is that we're all missing the point.

We're all losing our souls.

However I felt the end meandered on and then ended anti-climatically.

I didn't feel as though escaping the violence was the main conflict in the movie. I think the writers were unsure how to end the film and they had all of that rising action to deal with so it ended how it did.

Which was okay, but could have been better.

!!!***RPG***!!!

Pretty scary concept to imagine but this was VERY well done...the way it was filmed (long scenes without interruptions) was what I really loved about it...I also watched the special features and how much detail went into this film was mind boggling....

never read the book, but the movie is a good depiction of what the world's gonna turn out like if it continues on the way it has been.

Sparks!

This was easily the best movie I saw all year - and I saw a lot of movies.

Absolutely brilliant acting on the part of Clive Owen and Michael Caine: Caine deserved an award for it.

What really shone in this movie was the cinematography: every moment was terrifying, real, and gruesome. It was amazing. From the darkness to the explosions to the blood splatters on the camera, everything seemed completely real and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Children of Men has been accurately described as a movie that everyone must see, but no one wants to see. It is extremely depressing and difficult to watch, this is true. But at the same time it is extraordinarily beautiful and moving.

I highly recommend it to everyone. It is phenomenal.

Brilliant cinematography, perfect characters and interesting plot. Not to mention the ending, it slowed down perfectly and wrapped up the film in a brilliant fashion.

This movie is well worth its five stars.

There are precious few science fiction films which are even worth their weight in salt when it comes to artistic merit. Children of Men is a rare exception, one worth its weight in gold. That being said, it's a pretty heavy movie. Aside from its deep seeded social, environmental and political commentary it is masterfully written and shot.

The minimal dialogue accentuated the already gritty and dark atmosphere giving a sense of hopelessness which permeated much of the film. For all its gloom and dark undertones about society there are moments of stark contrast where one can't help but feel a certain hope or faith in humanity.

The cinematography was a brilliant combination of exploiting dreary scenery, shaky camera movements and exceptionally long cuts. The dark grays, blues and occasional blood spattered lense push this gritty dystopia from science fiction concept to gut wrenching reality. This feeling of immersion is furthered by intentionally rough camera work which gives you the sense that you're running along side the protagonists through thick and thin. The continuous shots add significantly to that sense. Some scenes go uninterrupted for upwards of five minutes with fantastic continuity. This is by no means a comprehensive list of the visual delights the film has to offer, but some things are simply better seen than read.

I began this review by implying Children of Men was a science fiction movie. In retrospect that doesn't seem like the most accurate way to describe it. It lacks words like masterpiece or work of art. Ultimately that's what it is, a work of art, a masterpiece which just happens to take place in the future. Above any genre name or classification it is brilliant film, one which you won't find in the science fiction section of your local video store. When it is eventually released on video you'll be looking for it in the Academy Awards section.
