this is still getting reviews? haha...
there's not too many martial arts films that are MUST SEE
but this one (and all of tony's films so far) are exactly that
you will only dislike these movies if you dont like martial arts movies.

It's great to see an artist like Tony Jaa finally being recognized in the west. If you love action movies, stunt and martial arts then this movie is a must see. Jaa displays the strength and beauty of Muay Boran and Muay Thai as effectively as anyone possibly can.

hironakamura, that's Muay Thai...
movie is great,it's not meant to be a story, it's meant to showcase Tony Jaa's martial arts expertise... which it does an amazing job

but nothing beats the opening scene in the first one with the fight for the flag to the top of the huge ass tree
the bone breaking scene in the protector does for sure.
tony jaa is the new generation of movie/martial artists, and all his work so far has been top notch.

Oh ya, Tony Jaa is the SHIT!!! I can say that that was the best movie i saw last year. You know that first seen in the movie took over 5 mouths to get. Tony broke both of his ankles the first time he tried jumping out of that tree. If you notice there is a pad under the tree in the movie covered by dirt and leaves they had to do that so he would brake any bones again. GREAT FUCKIN FLICK!!!

Muay Thai, or the art of eight limbs. A beautifully graceful and potent fighting style.
In this movie Muay Boran, an ancient fighting sub form of Muay thai is showcased in this film. The style itself is aimed towards one hit take down maneuvers and has excellent offense and defensive strategies.
Tony Jaa is the new generation of martial arts fighters. He has the style of Bruce Lee and the slick moves of Jackie Chan, with the cold acting capabilities of Jet Li.
Awesome movie, with a cool plot and interesting characters.

fuck a wicked movie all around if i had anywhere near his skill i would be kicking ass all day
Thursday August 16, 2007 - 8:08 AM
fucking amazing! the action, the stunts, and the story was great too, the replays and different camera angles to show no wires or anything were wicked. and they did some fantastic cutting... it was just great, tony jaa is the shit... lol and i love how tony actually hits the guys, it's real, which is whats so cool, later on in the movie you can see the stunt guys flinching from tony cuz they've been hit so many times. i watched the extras and such and they show all the impacts, which is why i say they did some great cutting, they cut out tony making sure whoever he hit is alright... lol that knee to the helmet, wow, i would love to be able to just jump onto someones shoulders, stradel their neck with my knees and split their head open like a coconut with my elbows... lol

I wanna learn Muay Thai!!! using ur elbows and knees and not so much your hands and feet - definitely a 2 thumbs up!!

Top notch action movie.
Reply to Bendo: You can't say that Jaa is more than Bruce Lee. You can't even compare the two. Thats like saying the Black Eyed Peas are like the Beatles.
No CGI, no wires, no slow motion, etc. The instant replays were great, b/c thats what we're here for. The story was uninspired as to be expected but didn't get in the way of the action.
This movie renewed my interest in the kung fu genre. I had previously become very tired of Jet Li and the like.

If you like action movies then you have to see this one. Tony Jaa is amazing; he's a gymnast and a martial artist in one. I think he practices gymnastics and Muay Thai something like 3 hours a day. Think Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan all balled into one, and then take away the stunt doubles and wires and you've got Tony Jaa. He comes up with some of the craziest moves and he does it without any help. After you watch this you'll be begging for more, so just wait till The Protector (Tom-Yum-Goong) comes out.. I think they step it up a notch with this movie. Have a look: www.apple.com/trailers/weinst...er1r/
I don't mean he's better than Bruce Lee.. I'm a big fan of his.. It's just a different level.. Bruce made a whole new style of fighting, was one of the strongest martial artists ever pound for pound.. and was in incredible shape.. Just saying the way Jaa moves.. it's like watching an urban gymnast/breakdancer/martial artist in one.. some of the moves you have to see more than once. But to top Bruce completely, Jaa has a lot of work to do. He definetly has style though
