Wednesday March 26, 2008 - 4:01 PM
Thought it was horrible. Fell asleep watching it the first time and fell asleep watching it the second time, then just watched the second half to finish the movie.
There may have been a couple mildly funny scenes, but overall it was boring as hell, the zombies weren't scary at all, and it seemed to me the director was torn weather he wanted a real zombie movie or comedy. This was niether. And the fact that they died in the end just makes it even less funny, they could have atleast found a funny way to defeat the zombies.
Even the original Dawn of the Dead was better then this. And the remake of Dawn of the Dead (a REAL zombie movie) actually made me laugh harder.
Wednesday March 26, 2008 - 2:14 AM
I don't even see how anyone can say this is a terrible movie. You must really hate life. On a more serious note, this movie was absolutely fantastic. Like come on! I love it!
"As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he was talking about."

This was the WORST zombie movie i have EVER seen, and i've seen just about all of the big popular ones. It wasnt funny at all. The zombies were terrible along with the rest of the casts acting. This movie doesnt even deserve ONE star. I'd much rather watch zombie movies that were made 10-20 years ago as oppose to this shit flick.
Monday January 14, 2008 - 6:13 PM
I love this MoviE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those guys are hilarious!
Monday January 14, 2008 - 3:03 PM
Personally one of my favorite flicks.

I bought this movie cuz I couldnt find it to rent and because of everyone on here and in real life hyping it up telling me its the greatest zombie movie of all time BLAH BLAH....
In fact I thought it was one of the worst zombie movies of all time. I wasnt too fond of the acting, effects, zombies or the british theme.
Return Of The Living Dead is still the best Zombie flick Ive ever seen

Funny!!
Monday June 11, 2007 - 10:40 PM
LOVED this movie so much. I think my FAVORITE scene was where Shaun didn't even realize what was going on around him. It was funny, but also kind of had a seriousness to it at times, which I thought was cool.

Fantastic fucking movie.
Great use of comedy a la slapstick that makes it enjoyable to anybody who liked the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series and the like.
Those who don't get it must not have too much brain capability.
"Stick with Dude, Where's my Car?" if this is too much for you to think about.
Wednesday January 24, 2007 - 5:10 PM
I hate this movie pretty much with a passion. It is completely stupid and pointless, and not even funny.
Wednesday January 24, 2007 - 4:14 PM
This movie is awesome.
Zombies are the shit, and this rad spin on a normal "Night of the Living Dead" is definately worth checking out.

Thursday November 16, 2006 - 10:49 PM
Amazing! I liked how they were going through his records and calmly picked out the ones he didn't want to keep and threw it on the oncoming zombies...ok I'm stupid. haha
Thursday November 09, 2006 - 6:21 PM

Thursday November 09, 2006 - 12:07 PM
This is one of the greatest zombie movies of all time.
The perfect balance of comedy and horror, all rolled up into one neat little package.
You've got red on you.
Thursday November 09, 2006 - 8:04 AM
This movie was awesome. But reading these reviews I think that a lot of people didn't quite understand what the director was going for. It was a spoof! A spoof of every zombie movie up until its time. Hell, it was even called "shawn of the dead" Kinda sound like Dawn of the Dead to anyone? So no more reviews stating, "it was really funny but it wasn't the greatest zombie movie"
Of course it was funny! That's all it was supposed to be! Oh and don't forget to watch the extras on the DVD.
Thursday November 09, 2006 - 7:18 AM

Monday October 30, 2006 - 1:16 PM
My favorite zombie film of all time.
I loved the characters and the plot was great, I think it's nice to see a zombie movie that's not aiming to make you scared, but instead makes you laugh.
Also, I loved how they don't even try to explain how the zombie's came about, to many films involve some crazy virus that reanimates the dead into a brain-starved flesh eating killer.
Saturday October 28, 2006 - 2:21 AM
I loved this movie. I laughed pretty hard. I love zombie movies, and this wasn't as good of a zombie movie. Too funny. But for a comedy it was great. Get baked and watch this fucking movie.

Monday October 23, 2006 - 4:12 PM

Monday October 23, 2006 - 2:54 PM
This Movie Actually made me laugh.. i like the ending the best!!!
Monday October 23, 2006 - 2:08 PM
one of my top 10 movies of 2004!
too many horror flicks out there take themselves too seriously, when you venture into this genre, any shortcomings and failures are going to manifest in humour so why not beat the critics to the punch? that's exactly what this movie did and it was fantastic
it also had a back story that didn't feel tacked on, and suspenseful moments were actually suspenseful - which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of other zombie flicks.
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 4:41 PM
One of my faves of all time!
A hilarious love story full of zombies!!!
What more could you ask for?
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 4:21 PM
great movie, lotsa jokes and had the romantic twist on it. i love zombies
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 3:55 PM
Love the movie, hilarious. Also, it's pretty cool to know that he is a electronic DJ, hence the t-shirts he wears to bed, the party flyers hanging up, the tables, and them mentioning that him and Liz met up at a rave.
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 3:43 PM
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 3:38 PM
i give them props for making a comedy out of the zombie movie.
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 3:36 PM
Such a great movie.
I cry laughing every time I watch it.
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 3:04 PM
"why do we have to go to liz's house?" "because i love her ed." "GAY!!"
this movie was priceless ... lol
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 2:46 PM
I think that this movie was really well thought out, and I have to admit that it got draw with the amount of time that I watched it.
I stopped watching it, and when I go back to watching it... it still cracks me up. I think it's a really intresting way of show the whole zombie thing, because really... they are slow... and dumb... and you can pretty much walk away from them.
The best part is when he's looking through the mail slot... because I swear in an american movie... it would have panned to show them, but it just showed his eyes...
"Nope none, maybe it's not as bad... OH no there they are"
Sunday October 22, 2006 - 2:01 PM
It was awesome the first few times i saw it. I'm starting to get sick of it now tho. The end still cracks me up hahahaa

Shaun Of The Dead isn't your typical zombie movie. In fact, the zombies don't truly enter the story until almost a third of the way in. So what's it really about? A man named Shaun, played by Simon Pegg, who lives in London and is a bit of a loser. He works in a dead-end job at an electronic goods store and spends most of his spare time at the local pub or playing video games with his unemployed roomate, Ed. One day Shaun's girlfriend, Liz, decides she's had enough of his lazy attitude and decides to leave him. When the city suddenly gets taken over by the living dead Shaun finds the perfect opportunity to prove himself to Liz, so he sets out to save the day, win his girlfriend back and keep his mum, Barbara, from being eaten by his step-dad who's slowly turning into a zombie.
Don't let the title and premise fool you, this isn't a simple spoof of Dawn Of The Dead, it's more a romantic comedy that just so happens to be littered with the undead. The film is also very clever, with a clear social commentary running throughout. The jokes that stem from this are absolutely hilarious but will probably be lost on any non-Londoners. It's actually quite unlikely that this film will translate to anyone outside the UK and this is a real shame and perhaps the films biggest flaw. But if you do get it, then good for you, because there is a lot of great stuff to be seen here. The script is wonderful and throws up many comedic moments, such as when Shaun and Ed are looking through Shaun's LP collection for a suitable vinyl to throw at two oncoming zombies, "Dire Straits?" "Chuck it!", or when Shaun and his friends beat up an elderly zombie in the pub using cricket bats, all to the rhythm of Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. The humour comes thick and fast, never have I laughed so consistantly during any film before, it only pauses briefly for a few dramatic scenes, all of which work surprisingly well. In fact the film tends to genre-hop quite a lot, and while some find this unappealing I think it works in its favour. One minute it's a comedy, then it's a drama and then it's a full blown horror. In fact some scenes are quite jumpy and certainly violent. One extremely gory part in particular is a clear homage to another famous horror film that shall remain unamed, but if you know what I'm talking about when you see it then good for you. That's the thing about this movie though, you don't need to be a horror fan to enjoy it. You just need to have the right sense of humour. Can I explain it? Well, no. You'll just know if the film's for you when you see it. I can assure you that most will like it. If you don't, then I really am sorry for you as this is about the most fun I have had in the cinema since Kill Bill . Ok, that wasn't long ago, but before that I don't think there was a film that was so rip-roaringly funny and then unashamedly brutal at the same time. There is nothing subtle about this movie, and yet it will simply go over the heads of most people. I urge you to watch the film and decide for yourself if you love it or hate it.
Shaun Of The Dead is a great film. It's funny, it's clever and it's got zombies in it! Go watch it, you'll laugh till it hurts!
This review was written by my brother.... Im much to lazy to write all that but we do have the same views.
