This film is so beautiful - but tragic to the point where its almost traumatizing. It was very draining to watch and when it ended I kind of sat there in shock... not knowing what to do with myself.
I loved it, but I dont know if I can ever see it again.

After watching this movie the first time I was horrified and in love at the same time. Truth is, it put me off getting high for a few days... Its an amazing movie though. One of the few drug related movies I can watch without throwing up anymore.
My favorite part has to be the fridge chasing the old woman...insane and classic all at the same time.

Depressing and somehow people feel that it's endorsing drugs. Which makes no sense at all.
This movie was created to show the downfall of doing drugs and how quickly the pedestal we place them on comes crashing down.
Most people seem to have missed the point. I don't know whether or not that makes it a bad movie seeing as It did not correctly portray it's point.
However. I liked it and thought it was well done.

Fucken wikkid movie....
After that moie came out, trhere were so many commercials with the same type of fast motion short sequence things....
like the snorting...eyes get wide....rolsl a doobie....breath out smoke.... you know.. Erg.. okay maybe it doesn't make sense how i'm typing it, but it makes sense in my head 
I loved the movie it was well done, and I like the fact it wasn't a 'happy' ending

I wept for probably an hour after I watched it for the first time. It's heavy theme hit me hard. I swore I would never watch it again, but the next day, after thinking about it all night, I had to watch it again. I invited over a few of my girlfriends and we watched it together, which ended in a huge cry fest and long talk with herbal tea, like a bunch of 40 year old single women. We made a pact to enter complete sobriety. I was very touched....needless to say, I broke my pact the next morning I said at the time that they should show this movie to elementry school kids. It'll scare the shit out of them...like religion class! Weeeeeee.
But in all seriousness, amazing acting, strong plot line and brilliant directing.

I have a bad habbit of saying "one of my favorites" on alot of movies but THIS movie I am serious about. I like this movie for a few good reasons, The music, The reality, The fiction. I thought is was totaly crazy how his mom was being attacked by the fridge, some of us feel that way sometimes but it was so discriptive. Ok, Ok... very well DONE movie. betuiful inovative cinematography, some good drug shots, the way drug movies really should be shot. But goddamn people. where the hell were the positive effects of the drugs. common, people dont do drugs so fucking do drugs, we do them to frickin feel awsome. In requiem for a dream, there were not outlined, or shown, any positive aspects of the drugs, simply the mind numbing addiction, that may or may not come along with users, aside from one scene when theyre in the living room playing with the turntables. PEOPLE DO DRUGS TO FEEL GOOD. sometimes we take it too far. but a good drug movie should show that.. at least if youre going to show worst case scenarios too! grr....
so overall... well shot, but it sounds like it was written by a disgustingly depressed, overmeddicated (not self medicated) rehab patient, trying to get the beautiful youth of today NOT to experiment.

Im kind of on the fence about this movie,
I loved it but at the same time I didnt like it.
But I'll watch it anytime it is on..
Really portrays what people will do to get high, or what happens when people get so addicted they dont even know what reality they are in anymore, which is kind of sad.

Graphic, but the subject warranted it.
It's a twisted view of addiction and what people would go to satisfy that addiction. It's ugly and hard to watch regular people fall into that out of control hole of addiction.

Heres the one bad review. Fuck this movie.
People will like anything with drugs and two bitches going ass2ass on a big dildo (for heroin)......its true, oh... its true.....
As far as showing it to school kids... it think its a fucking great idea. Most of the kids will have nightmares and be turned off drugs (until highschool). The rest will be pro's at rolling spliffs and cooking up smack by highschool.
The soundtrack was good though. I probably would have found this movie funny if it weren't for that tune.

There seems to be one film everybody knows about, or has heard of that kicks you in the stomach and leaves your head reeling. Requiem for a Dream presents the darkest take imaginable on a story of hopes and dreams shattered by drug addiction. I love how there's no preaching or sermonizing here, just an almost-clinical depiction of lives laid to waste. This is not a film for the weak of mind or soul. Even in the midst of the whirlwind of a film festival, when I was seeing four films a day and the tendency was for everything to blur into a continuum, this one stuck out, demanding attention and rumination. It is a force to be reckoned with.
In short, the movie is awesome! I loved it

You can't watch this movie and think about the future. It is all about the present. It shows us what we are doing now, and what can happen anytime...
A QUALITY film. Naturally...
PS - the soundtrack, mindblowing. It radiates a darkness, in creeping orchestrated sounds that can't be turned off...

Very good take on how drugs could easily screw up not just yours but everyone around you's lives.
It was a sad moment viewing the ending but i give this 5 stars, a little hard to watch in certain situations but i highly recommend it.
Even Marlon Wayans does a good acting job.

Seemed like a flick to show random crap to sadly my age group. hey to each his own, I'm sure it touched somebody but montages and cut scenes ain't for me too flashy I guess. Either way I'll give it some praise for tryin' somethin' to reach the younger generations. As for the glamourizing thing I read earlier I don't think it did but the montages and the cut scenes probably didn't help the easily influenced brodogs and kittens. Either way I sort of thought it was a misrepresentation of substance abuse and I was a heroin addict.
