this movie was and is a classic. when i first saw saw it i was amazed, and i see it now as an unforgettable classic that threw the gauntlet down for every other zombie movie out there

I saw this for the first time in about 1991, and it was the first zombie movie I had ever seen. It was enough to hook me for life. I've probably seen it 20+ times, I never get sick of it. Creepy, gory, smart....for me, this sets the bar for all remakes. Stays extremely faithful to the original, simply 'updates' it, instead of falling victim to a director/screenwriter's ego, thinking they can improve a classic.

this was such and awesome remake, one of the better ones i've ever seen. I thought it was pretty funny though how Barbra turned into G.I. Jane.

I would say Im one of the biggest zombie fans ever. My collection proves my point. This is the best "zombie" remake period and nothing else comes close. Unless the decided to recreate some blind templar zombie vampire mummies from the 1300's.
Tom Savini should get some more work, why can't anyo9ne see he is the zombie makeup genius of the 80's and 90's.

As far as remakes go, this is one of the best I've ever seen. And Tom Savini is the fucking man when it comes to make-up.

I have to admit I’m pretty happy with the remake that Tom Savini did, he was the one that did the makeup for Romero’s Night of the living dead. The actors are pretty good, and the way the zombies act and look is spot on to the feel that Romero went for in the original black and white.
It’s worth while to have in the collection, that is if you collect zombie movies.
