Thursday May 17, 2007 - 3:04 PM
4 stars I would give it 5 but there wasnt enough J-ROC and there was way too god damn much The Tragically Hip . Sure its a Canadian movie and its to be expected but as I said god damn. I fucking hate the Hip.
Wednesday May 09, 2007 - 1:01 PM
This movie was not any different than any of their show's. I guess I was expecting something different/special for a movie.
Wednesday May 09, 2007 - 12:13 PM
Great movie, but what the hell was with having a different Trinity?
She didn't even look trailer trash.
Tuesday May 08, 2007 - 8:55 PM
I loved this movie. I have been a fan of the tv series since the beginning. I was overly excited for this movie.
I got my fiance [who lives in California] into them as well. I sent him the movie for his birthday. A few of his friends asked him if Canadians were really that crazy.. hah!

I love these guys, I met them once....awesome...they were in role, it was great
Wednesday March 07, 2007 - 5:17 PM
in all honesty i had pretty low expectations for this one. i LOVE the show, i just thought the movie would be over-hyped and not nearly as funny
I like how they kept it in tune with the plot of the series, but if you'd never seen the show you could still understand the background of the characters.
Hugh Dillon from The Headstones as the bad guy strip club owner=brilliant casting
the only criticism i have was that there were several jokes recycled from various episodes of the tv show, but they were still funny ones at least
and any movie with no less than 3 Tragically Hip songs in it is good in my books
Wednesday March 07, 2007 - 4:39 PM
THE BIG DIRTY!
Teh Movie was awesome
so is the show.
I loved how they played A LOT of "The Tragically Hip"
very well suited!
Finally they showed Lucie's boobs!
[I think everyone was waiting to see her new tits].
ps. Bubbles is killer.
"Julian this Kitty smells like ciggrets, hes not suposed to smell like ciggrets, hes supposed to smell like a kitty"
"Boys there a Hellicocksucker behind us"

Wednesday March 07, 2007 - 3:37 PM

Wednesday November 08, 2006 - 8:06 AM
havent seen the movie, but just for the simple fact that the show is quite possibly the WORST thing on tv, im gonna have to say that the movie is just as shit
Wednesday November 08, 2006 - 2:05 AM
As badly as I wanted to give this movie a perfect 5.....a five needs to be just that, perfect. And this movie, while kicking a LOT of ass, and being hilarious, missed the mark MAJORLY in one department. Music.
Simply put, the music selection was terrible. We get it, the Tragically Hip are fans of the show. You dont need to use their music for like the entire score. I know Im exagerrating, but coming out of that movie, i cant remember a single song that wasn't a Tragically Hip song. Im biased because I hate them, but seriously....if it was a band I LOVED, I dont need to hear them more than 3 times in one movie. "Oh, a sad scene....well, the Hip have a sad song, don't they? Let's use that! Hmmm....an action scene....the Hip have some fast songs, right? Sweet, set it up!" Gord Downey even had a minor role in the movie!
All the Hip hating aside, the movie was GREAT! Really funny. If you like the show, you'll love the movie. More of all the same.
The Hip are Canada's best kept secret my friend.... Hockey, The Hip, CBC, Smarties... Toques... ALL CANADIAN STAPLES...
LIKE FUCKIN PEAMEAL BACON YO
haven't seen the movie... THE HIP ROCK THO
Tuesday November 07, 2006 - 11:50 PM
Well I was suspecting more of a cult 'sleeper' type film, but this seems to have been made for an assumed more widespread audience that hadn't ever watched the show, but everyone has seen it! It had potential to be way better
Tuesday November 07, 2006 - 11:27 PM
TPB is huge
but i kno my fuckin seasons
and all the movie really was was all the old jokes in one big slew
it was good
meant for ppl that dont kno shit bout TPB
Tuesday November 07, 2006 - 10:47 PM
I love everything about it. I hope this brings in a bigger audience so more people can watch the show and realize that the martimes have somthing to offer. Although the show doesn't really do a good job a showing the rest of Canada that we do more in the east than drink. Oh well.
Oh, and there were so many Tragically Hip and Rush references you will have to watch it more than once to catch them all.
Plus, they had a Tea Party song in it!!

this name sounds like a porno flick
Sunday November 05, 2006 - 11:20 PM
It catered too much to the new audience it was trying to bring in...
It was funny, and the shit talks were golden, but for someone who watches the show, it really falls short of your expectations.
Overall though, it was a funny movie and definately worth seeing
Saturday October 21, 2006 - 11:16 PM
I thought it was as good as could be expected.
I knew they were going to throw us off by adding things we already knew for the newb audiance but they did it in a way that people who watch it religiously (me) could appreciate.
Saturday October 21, 2006 - 7:41 PM
These boys are representin the maritimes, where I'm from. Sweet.

This movie was Great!!!
For fans it was definetly an advancement from the Tv show.
For traditional cinema folk; it may not of been a huge achievement but will be impressed with the comedy that only the East coast can give. And you do see a few scenes with the Atlantic in the background - so there was cinematography and overall it was a really well-put together film.
In theatre; I never watched a movie twice but would go for this again if the popcorn and drinks wern't so stupidly expensive.
From the TV to Cinema: Julian looks "sexy/sexier", Ricky gets a little smarter (altho he still mispronounces and/or has the wrong vocabulary), and bubbles goes damed CRAZY!!!
Oh and Julian does the unthinkable - you have to watch!
