Imagine the storyline as a stained glass window. Now toss a wrench through that window and walk along, gazing at the pieces. Thats what its like to watch The Tracey Fragments.

This is the twisted tale of Tracey Berkowitz, a girl wrapped in a shower curtain, half naked on the back of a bus, recounting her tale. Tracey is searching for her brother, Sonny, who went missing while under her care. Taunted by her family and schoolmates alike, Tracey has taken to the streets to make things right.

The most stunning feature aside from the strikingly disjointed storyline is the editing and cinematography. Shot in 14 days, the movie took 9 months to edit, and with due cause. The entire movie is done in multiframe compositions, each shot split into different frames with different angles, shots, and sometimes elements all together. It brings an unerring sense of confusing compounded by the story's nonlinear format, drawing you into the fear and anxiety absolutely oozing from lead actress Ellen Page.

The only fault I could really find is the fragmentation of the story is a bit harsh and may lead to confusion. Also, while inventively used, the multiframe can be a bit overbearing at times. Some shots held longer probably could have had greater effect.

Recommended. High praise for Ellen, she's surely an actress to keep your eye on.
