I watched the movie when i was so high.
And i had no clue what was going on.
But I couldn't turn my head away from the screen.

I thought the movie was excellent too. I read the book, and I have to say the main bad guy literally gave me the creeps. Which doesnt happen any more really. I think people have to set aside common perceptions of the typical Good Guy vs Bad Guy film when seeing this movie. The ending was a shocker, but it also goes to show you that Good doesnt always Win. I think they did any excellent job staging the suspense as well. The fight could have gone either way, they both almost killed each other anyways. The movie ended on a tragic note. I can see why people didnt understand it, I say read the book.

The vast majority of issues that people have with this movie surround the ending, but to me it seems to link back to where the villain xplains how things end at a certain point - the coin has passed through handlers to reach a certain point. He reached the moment where he had a decision - if he'd left a moment sooner or later he would have missed the crash. It was very Run Lola to me. I've also never read a book that was translated so acurately to a movie. Very impressive. I'd give it 4.5 but since there isn't the option, 4.

Lots of shooting, lots of killing, lots of money. Can't get any better than that!!
The bad guy in this movie scares me, and seriously, would you have walked around that long in a circle of monster trucks with dead people everywhere? Not I. But hey, I would've taken the 2 million for sure, and I know I wouldn't have lasted as long as the guy who did take it, lol.

great movie right up until the last 5 minutes, then it sucked... wtf kinda closure is that? naw i aint tellin yall bout my dreams, whazzat woman? you said yall gon be polite now? well alrighty then, we wuz fixin to gallop in the dang cold and dark... FFFFFFUUUCKERRYYYY
sure the pretentious duo directors wanted to make a social statement with the ending, but they fucked up. as a piece of art, it should still provide meaning and there wasn't enough to complete this film. inserting elements for the sake of complexity doesnt do shit. and anybody who thinks people should be forced into appreciating this ending just because they appreciated it probably got raped as a child by their uncle (who happened to resemble anton when he said his line "that depends... do you see me?"  )
but there IS another element to this... it has been posited (by wannabe directors and failed film students who will never amount to anything more than dead end service industry work) that the ending is a brilliant twist of directorial insight. however, they're just licking coen brother ass when they say that.
what is truly meaningful about this ending is that the really intelligent viewer is left with a feeling of dissatisfaction as an instinctive reaction. the impact on viewers that the movie is over and that's all the closure they receive is symbolized by the impact on anton's vehicle near the end. the general feeling of not being fulfilled is exactly how tommy lee jones' character is left feeling and the ending brings the viewer full circle into the world of that protagonist rather than the typical ending expected where lewellyn would have 'won'. if you hated the ending, that's exactly how you're supposed to feel.

Great movie. Pace gets slow at points.

I was super excited to see this, and Im sad to say I was a little let down. A great movie, no doubt, but I was expecting something epic that was sure to be one of the best movies I'd ever see. The characters are great, the acting is superb, but this movie is SLOW. And in a lot of parts, boring. That being said, I enjoyed it a lot, and want to see it again.
