The bread comes in a white paper bag with ingredients and nutrition information. The bag is almost, but not quite, big enough to cover the whole loaf.
The loaf is quite attractive. Lovely color, two scores on the top. The whole loaf is nicely floured, and you can see a bunch of different grains at the surface. The bottom is generously floured.
The loaf feels firm, a bit dense, just as you'd expect from something that claims to be rustic.
The outside smell is very good, nice and rich, with a lot of grain smell. Very pleasant.
The cut was relatively easy, as expected given the feel. It's relatively easy to make clean slices.
The crumb is of average density, with a nice grey/brown color, and lots of visible grains.
The inside smell is is very pleasant, you can really smell the grains. By golly, this thing actually smells somewhat rustic!
Taste
The crust has a good texture, and melts more easily than I expected. Excellent taste with lots of grain flavors, sometimes even a bit nutty. Excellent mouthfeel.
The crumb is really quite god, you can feel the grain seeds, with a slight sourdough taste (maybe).
Conclusion
This is unusually good for a semi-industrial bread. Grace does not hold back on the grains, and that really pays off. Excellent rustic bread.
