One of the best books i have ever read. Neil Gaiman is such a brilliant writer! I recommend it to anyone who would ever even consider picking up a book.

Shadow has spent three years in prison. For those three years, he's been quiet, good, and thought mostly of his wife. Only a few days before he is scheduled to be released from prison, he learns that his wife and best friend has died in a car accident but he is being released early.

On the plane ride home to the funeral, Shadow meets a very large man who calls himself Mr. Wednesday. A self-styled grifter and rogue, Wednesday offers Shadow a job. And Shadow, a man with nothing to lose, accepts, although confused.

Shadow soon learns that his role in Wednesday's schemes will be far more dangerous than he could have ever imagined. For beneath the placid surface of everyday life, a war is being fought, and the prize is the very soul of America.

It's very fantastic and you are sure to love it.
