Dat's a good one
Card's Parallel Series beginning with "Ender's Shadow" (Focusing on Bean and to some extent Peter Wiggin) is also very good.

I agree with the previous review. The way the series is written really makes you feel for the charecters.

This is a well-known science fiction novel (the first of a series) that tells the story of Andrew Wiggin. It is Earth in the future and the planet has been attacked. Years later, the governments of Earth are training young geniuses to become soldiers and commanders in Earth's defense because they fear another attack approaching. The story in this book tells of Andrew Wiggin, or Ender, being sent to Battle School and the happenings that occur there, how he rises to the top of the school and eventually becomes commander of the Earth's fleet.

I suggest you read it and then continue on with the series. They are very well written and wonderfully spoken books.
