This is my third Darkrave and it wasn't the best, but it was still pretty good. I was skeptical about going because the only people I knew were going were my boyfriend and our friend, and I didn't even know that until I got to Toronto. There actually turned out to be a fair number of people I knew that came which is AWESOME.
You know what else is awesome? A/C! This is the first Darkrave where I didn't have to de-fog my glasses every five minutes. Nor was there the dreaded sweat rain! I kept waiting for it, but it never happened. I think that's pretty sweet. The minute I saw that big fan on stage when I walked in, I was like "Fuck yeah!"
It was really dead in the beginning, which made me sad. But it was all okay once more people showed. The vicious circle of people not going because they're waiting for more people to show, but THOSE people are also waiting for more people to show, and so on.
Some really goods songs were played (Zombie Girl, NIN, VNV Nation, fucking BLOODHOUND GANG), but they weren't mixed that much. A lot of them just seemed like they were just being played as is. Big ups to Ekoplex for playing such an awesome set. I will definitely be looking out for your name.
Pretty good night. Saw lots of people, heard good music, didn't get showered by sweat, and bought myself some new LEDs which I love! See you all in August.

My boyfriend (who I haven't raved with since XXXmas) didn't have photo ID, but he had his birth registration and a security guard was kind enough to let us in as long as we left by 1:30, which we did. Wish I could have stayed, but I was getting a bit overheated and I hurt my shoulder during some jungle, anyway. The sound kept screwing up in some areas. Needles jumping in the Reverb, volume in Holy Joe's, etc. But regardless, it was still fucking awesome. I liked that the crowd wasn't too big, so I had plenty of room to dance and it was easy enough to find my friends.
In the end, it was a really amazing night. I'm glad my boyfriend decided to come or else it would've been shit to me. And the best part is, our boss drove us there!
