FUCKIN SECURITY...

I wasn't into the first two sets, but around 12:30, it got awesome. Left early cause security was just bringing me down...standing outside the bathroom stalls, following me around...

FAK.

Security is getting more and more fucked at the Big Bop.
Eachtime I go, I see so much corruption and it makes me sick.

+If the flyers say $10 before 10....allow people in for $10 before 10
+If you are going to make people who are obviously older than 16 show ID, make EVERYONE show ID, regardless of how little they have on
+If you are going to sneak girls who are fucked out of their mind bumps of K, while you think no one is looking, don't kick out other people who are doing K, while they think no one is looking
+If you are going to charge people "extra" because you suspect they are dealers, and give them a rough time, don't have insiders deal your shit
+If you are going to make the guys put their shirts on when they take them off, have the fucking curtosey to do the same with the underage girls who may or may not be too fucked up to realize what they are doing
+If you are going to jump over a bathroom stall door to rag people on their drug use, make sure you KNOW they are actually using

Among other things, security really kills the mood...maybe just for me, but bad vibes lead to bad energy, leads to bad trip and ultimately, bad experience.

Music was good though, especially upstairs smile

Requiem For a Dream

I wept for probably an hour after I watched it for the first time. It's heavy theme hit me hard. I swore I would never watch it again, but the next day, after thinking about it all night, I had to watch it again. I invited over a few of my girlfriends and we watched it together, which ended in a huge cry fest and long talk with herbal tea, like a bunch of 40 year old single women. We made a pact to enter complete sobriety. I was very touched....needless to say, I broke my pact the next morning tongue I said at the time that they should show this movie to elementry school kids. It'll scare the shit out of them...like religion class! Weeeeeee.

But in all seriousness, amazing acting, strong plot line and brilliant directing.

"You uck me, I ill you!"

"Ma, are you on uppaz!?"

Not that I'm picky in any which way...Meh, whatever gets me fucked is what I shall drink, but I always have a hard time with Sambuca. My mother LOVES it because she likes black licorice....but, Bleh...I'm not a fan...but like I said, if it's the only thing around, I'm all over it.

Zodiac

From the director of Se7en and Fight Club, comes this wildly entertaining, 2 and a half hour film with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat and then pondering after leaving the theatre. Jake Gyllenhaal was believable as the "Zodiac" obsessed Robert Graysmith, with his keen portrayal of vulnerability with intense determination. Robert Downey Jr., although difficult to understand at times, as per usual, did a magnificant job in his rendition of Paul Avery [although I think being sarcastic and drunk is something Downey can do with ease tongue], and Mark Ruffalo! Finally, the man is breaking through with the talent I knew he possessed! Getting away from the teenie bob movies such as 13 going on 30 and Just Like Heaven, his performance was outstanding, much like in Eternal Sunshine. Ruffalo played Inspector David Toschi, and he did it damn well.

Gah. Hostel was awful. They tried to make up for their lack of plot by spewing out tits and ass for the first half of the movie and then guts and blood for the second half. They basically tried their damn hardest to make their audience physically sick. It wasn't scary, it was disgusting. I was very very disapointed.

The day a good, classic "horror" film is released, is the day I will eat my hat.

I have not been remotely "frightened" since the Exorcist back when I was 12.

Prozac Nation

Elizabeth Wurtzel

1994
Genre:
Biographies & Memoirs
Average:

In her tear jerking memoir, Wurtzel pours her heart out as she recalls her experience with major depression. A journalism major at Harvard, Wurtzel began her downward spiral into the darkness of deep depression in her tender pre-teen years and in this novel, she lists her experiences with drugs, dealing with divorced parents and eventually being prescribed the, at the time-new, anti-depressant, Prozac. Wurtzel writes poetically, beautifully, as her soul is just smeered across every page. Worth the read for sure, but keep the tissues handy.

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas

Hunter S. Tompson

An amazing novel. Based loosely on his own experiences and origionally written as a mini series for Rolling Stone magazine, Thompson lures the reader in with his illusive, poetic retelling of a Doctor of Journalism and his agent searching for the American Dream in Las Vegas. With acid, ether and masculin trips described with such intensity, Thompson does a great job at capturing the paranoia, euphoria, fear and loathing. The novel has plenty of political spins which add for an enlightening twist.
