That has to be THE SKETCHIEST shit I've seen a promoter do in a long long time. Assholes.
I drove all the way from london with 6 other people that were all REALLY excited to see dave the drummer.
Now they changed the venue 2 days before the actual party, didn't have turntables downstairs until AFTER MIDNIGHT when FLIM started playing, they charged us 20 bucks at the door AND THEY TOLD DAVE THE DRUMMER NOT TO SHOW UP.
How the fuck do you expect to throw parties, when half the dj's walk out becaue you paid NONE of them (yeah, NONE, not a SINGLE DJ got paid to be there that night) and you INSTRUCT the headliner NOT TO SHOW UP because you'll lose money because not enough people showed up to your event.
Anybody who reads this and has had a similar experience with these assholes, let me know
Seriously, maybe I'm just naive, but i honestly did not expect any of this, and all of the stuff i learned afterwards (from dave the drummer's WEBSITE and from other informed sources) has made me actually nauseous.
SHITIEST TORONTO PARTY EXPERIENCE ->> Thanks Terror Inc, you money-grubbing, sketchy assholes.
and to everybody else who wrote stuff like "life gives you lemons, make lemonade" and all that, i DO understand, and anyone that knows me knows that I'm the most "silver-lining" guy out there, but blatantly lying to your crowds (dave missed his flight, we don't know where he it, blah blah blah) and overcharging us doesn't leave us with a good taste...
I know I'm never going to another Terror inc party, that's for damn sure.
and ruffion, you're an idiot, i'm not talking about PHYSICALLY throwing a PERSON under a bus, that's fuckin stupid. it was a party, i'm not going to murder someone. jesus...
i meant METAPHORICALLY throw the company.....under the bus means that i don't give a shit about whatever i'm throwing. think before you say something moron
update: i will admit this is harsh, and obviously not everyone involved planned on all of this, but somebody fucked up seriously with this party, and i'm sorry if i'm offending people who ARE legitimate and DID make the effort to make a party happen; and obviously the dj's who DID show up and play did a good job; but whoever decided to tell dave not to show up and still charge us 20 bucks, you still suck.
end of rant.***

PHENOMENAL PARTY!!!!!!
Galactic ups go out to Taboo Events for bringing the wickedness to my ears on saturday (galactic cuz i needed something better than "huge" or "big"
Anyway, this party KICKED ASS!! Rum Runners is actually a great venue, LOADS of space to dance, spread out, you can go upstairs to chill, rooftop patio, big bar, everything you could ask for in a venue! (also, well ventilated, this proved to be very important as i was dancing my ASS off...)
Now the warmup DJ, Chris Allen I believe, was pretty damn good. He played well to the crowd, got us dancing, and one song at about 10 after 12 absolutely rocked everybody!!
Couple minor sound glitches, but nothing to worry about.
THEN CAME SANDER.
damn
what can i say, really?? He SMOKED it, right from the beginning. Started off with a record that I'm pretty sure i actually have!!?? a breaks remix of an old trance song, i kinda forget the name now, aren't i lame?
Anyway, I had been spinning techno all day and was completely in a hard tech mood, and brother, let me tell you, sander delivered!!!
I realized afterwards that i actually hadn't ever heard one of his sets before, but now I definetely want to hear a whole lot more from this guy, really good bangin, hard tech trance, FLAWLESS MIXING, excellent track selection; not to mention the programming was awesome. That's where you can tell a GREAT DJ from a GOOD DJ; he structured his set so well nobody in the entire building stopped moving for the whole 2.5 hours!!
I just realized i didn't even take a picture of him spinning (got a couple vids though, thank god) because i was too busy giving'er on the floor!!
BOTTOM LINE: Taboo Events absolutely ROCKS; thanks SO MUCH for bringing this man to my ears; you guys had a great venue, awesome lighting setup, good sound, great DJ's; all around phenomenal party!! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT TABOO EVENT!!

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!
now THAT was a party...
I had such an absolutely kickass time on friday!! Holy crap my legs hurt (partly cuz i didn't exactly rest on saturday either, but mainly from the initial workout on friday.)
So yeah, me and Martin got there at like 11:30 maybe? And immediately started rocking out.
(sidenote, the line bypass thing kicked ass, there was a big big line-up and we just found ourselves on the list and walked in, awww yeah...)
I'm pretty sure Chiclet was playing when we got there, as always hard banging trance, which you KNOW I was diggin.
That and she looks like she's having so much fun while spinning, i love watching people who truly enjoy their "work" behind the decks, it's wicked.
Next up there was the duo of Static-V (Static-XXX and Jon V) who absolutely rocked the place, it was great, i was sweating like CRAZY by the time they released the decks from their kung-fu grip.
The vibe was phenomenal too, everybody was having an awesome time, i think cuz everybody was there to rock out and wish Wendy a happy birthday, it was pretty cool; i really had tons of fun there.
But yeah, this Static-V team was great, then as always, Pay The DJ and Myth laid down some siiiiick tunes. (Yes i know sean, you think it wasn't that great, but EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the room was GIVING'er, so no worries buddy)
Awesome tunes by those two, as expected and delivered.
Then, as i was disappointed in my slowness to arrive, I DID get to see the Birthday Girl spin up a few choons! Itr was shorter than i would have liked, only like 3 records i think, but that first track wendy?!?!?! AWESOME!!!!
Of course the mixing was right on point, which REALLY surprised me because i figured you would've been HAMMED at this point, so good job!!!
The only thing that wasn't awesome about Friday was that it had to end, after only 3 tracks by Wendy.
Still wicked though, had an AWESOME time destroying that dancefloor, and I would do it all again in a second!
WOOT!
ALSO, YES, YOU SHOULD DEFINETELY KEEP THROWING PARTIES WENDY!
jam!

JESUS...
that's all i can say, wow man...
This party kicked ASS.
Where to begin even?
Well, I got there kinda late, i didn't know what time Wendy was playing, so I missed your set (sorry kid!) but I'm sure she kicked ass, she always does.
But yeah, we got there about halfway through Mz. Demeanor's set, aand GOD DAMN! This lady killed it!! The other dj's laid down some ridiculous skills and songs, but dammit this lady just laid down the music that my ears needed, some BIG KICKASS 4X4 mayhem.
If you read this Carrie, AWESOME AWESOME JOB.
I already said that, but I'd like to underline my point.
Anyhoo, Jen Mas rocked the shit out of those decks too, I'm not THE biggest fan of hardcore really, but the tunes were mental and the beat juggling and scratching were PHENOMENAL; I was just watching her spin for quite a chunk of time, and man could that lady spin some fuckin records.
CHICLET!!!! YOU RULE!!!! I hate to say this, but I don't think I've ehard of her before, but jesus wow, lol, that was nuts.
Equally impressive turntablism skills, but a little more trance-y/ hardcore german trance-y type shit to make my ears bleed with joy! (allright, that was gross, but she rocked my head off)
And DAMMIT could this girl mix; it was so much fun watching her go too, this little tiny asian girl who was absolutely beating the hell out of those turntables and mixer, she just dominated them, it was awesome.
JESS!!! It sucks that you got cut off, they should ahve definetely let you finish! that last song was killer! ,but as always, wicked wicked set. Like I've said a few times, WE NEED TO DO A VS. SET, you play all de right riddims girl!
ALL IN ALL, I LOVED THIS PARTY!!! MY LEGS ARE STILL KILLING ME, IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED, SOME GREAT KICKASS DJ'S ROCKING THE SHIT OUT OF THE PLACE! AND IT WAS ALL 4X4, SMEET DELICIOUS, HARDASS 4X4
loved it
can't wait for alpha wave 2

WICKED WICKED MOVIE!!!
I loved every second of it till my dvd player magged out...
It was really humorous, in a sarcastic kinda way (which i love) and really well written.
The cinematography/set design combination was one of the things that really stuck out for me and this movie; all of the walls/paintings/architecture/carpets were REALLY cool and original-looking, and i really like the way the film was shot i.e. camera angles and perspectives.
With the opening scene and the drabness of the walls, combined with the intense blue of the chairs, really grabbed me right off the bat.
Overall, I'm definetely gonna buy this movie, if not this weekend then damn soon, because it was AWESOME.
Anybody that hasn't seen it yet, if you liked Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, or anything like it, you'll really dig this movie.

Fuckin wicked party!!
Good job ash, doug, everybody involved, i had a fuckin blast!!
I had to work until 1, so i got there kinda late, but I got there i would say maybe halfway through Myagi's set, and MAN does that guy ever kick TONS of ass!!
The Setup he had was off the wall, with the midi controller and all that funky stuff i wouldn't know what to do with; but the tunes were AWESOME.
I'm sure i must have seen this guy at some other party some time, but man , i can't stress this enough, he fuckin KILLED IT.
Marty McFly was good too, I was really excited to see him because he is the man who is solely responsible for me discovering and LOVING breaks like 6 or 7 years ago or whenever that was.
He played some really cool, tribal-y kinda breaks that i was rockin out to, and the style was very original, i liked it.
The venue was killer as well; I hadn't been to that place since it was DV8, like wayyyyy back, and I forgot how sick and big the place is!!
If you guys throw another couple parties there, and pack that place, you could easily fit like 600 people in there.
I liked the setup too, it was laid out well, and thought out well.
Either way, I think I've ranted on about this long enough; POINT OF THE STORY? RUSH FUCKIN ROCKED!
Good job guys...
