Very good movie, took me a while to see it though.....my only issue was that I expected it to be a bit funnier than it was

Like most book to movie adaptations, the movie doesnt at all compare. They did a good job at catching people who havent read the series up with the concepts within the movie like daemons and Dust. What I really didnt like about the movie was the rushing of the story (granted they had to keep it within reasonable limits running time) it was still frustrating to some level

the cg wasnt TOO bad and I'm also glad that the movie agrees with my pronounciation of the main character's name (Lyra: as in Lie-ra, as opposed to Lee-ra)

I was a little upset that they didnt end where the first book (approximately) did where Lord Asriel jumped into the tare in the universe(cause 10-15 more minutes added on to the end and they could have, plus that would have added a bit more of a cliffhanger to get people more interested in the (hopefully) next movies to follow)

Nicole Kidman did a MUCH better job than I thought she might when I first found out she would be playing Mrs. Coulter (not that she is a bad actress but I just didnt see her fitting the part, but I was corrected becuase she did do pretty well)

overall, I think it was well done and I'm excited to see how they take it in the rest of the series (waiting for the mulefa ^^) (as well hopping that the character Marie Malone will actually act using the arm movements and sounds the creatures used lol)
