After reading Haunted, and being slightly let down, i was concerned when i picked up the book. Not to say i didn’t enjoy his last novel, it just wasn't on the top of my list.

However after reading Rant, all of my short lived scepticisms have been put to rest. Once again I can not wait to read the next book from Palahnuik.

Rant was deeply involved, incredibly complex and thought provoking. I read it in a matter of hours, because the characters and the plot sucked me in. It's a novel that requires some thought, and some opinion on the series of events that take place. You being to question all the characters personal bias and wonder who could be lying or manipulating the story.

It was wonderful, completely innovative and totally different. Definatly worth a first, second and third read.

Haunted... I have been debating my feelings about it for sometime. I enjoyed the book, found it strange and humours at times. However I wasn't thrilled with the ending.
I agree with the previous statements. The short stories where excellent but the "novel" aspect of it was lacking in ways I just can't put my finger on.

Definitely not my favourite Palahniuk.
He has a new book coming out in May? called "Rant". I am hoping it will make up for what Haunted was missing.

I read this a number of years ago.
It definitely illustrates the beginnings of Hunter's "Gonzo" style, and who he was at a younger man. Though of his work it is not my favourite, it was definitely an enjoyable read.
