Hrm. Well, the effects were great, the action sequences were fun, but... it never went anywhere. There was no climax to the story; it was constant, all the way through.

Looks like I'm the only one that doesn't love the movie.

This is an incredible book, though I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a nice, uplifting story. It's the story of the Nigerian Civil War, as told through the eyes of three different people.

It seemed slightly reminiscent of Kite Runner, esp. in mood and such things; perhaps this was because I read them back to back.

The book isn't actually out in the US yet; I bought it in a train station in Scotland.

Everyone compares this book to David Sedaris' work; in my opinion, this book doesn't even come close to the standard that Sedaris sets. I nearly put the book down a few times, only forcing myself to read it because I hate not finishing books.

If you like Sedaris, read his work, not Burroughs'.
