well to clear up the water priceing it was $2 in the beer garden and as $5 from at least some of the stands offering water (makes no sense to me either )

good fucking show only saw a few people though and i was pissed off for much of it since i had a extra ticket i bought for someone else and when i never heard from them it was too late to find anyone else to go so it ended up costing me $124
($62 ea. from ticketmaster)
so that blew but was fucking nice to get into a pit again after so long

looking forward to seeing slipknot come around for thier next album (i agree with how said it was better then the '05 show at arrow hall and not as good as ozzfest '01)

So basically I work on Sheppard Avenue, at Chesswood (I work for my father T_T ). On my lunch break I went over to the festival.

My dad also knows someone who has something to do with the festival, thus I got in for free.

It was pretty sick, although I was only there for an hour.

It was a really good show, not the best i have ever seen or heard. In reference to ozzfest 01, that to me had the best lineup of any festival concert you could have imagined.

Black Sabbath, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Papa Roach, Disturbed, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Drowning Pool, Crazy Town, Hatebreed, Black Label Society, Taproot, Nonpoint, Spineshank, (hed) Planet Earth, American Head Charge, Otep, Godhead, The Union Underground, No One, Systematic, Beautiful Creatures, Pressure 4-5 and Pure Rubbish

I couldn't have asked for such a good lineup, it was well worth the 95 dollars.

This one had fewer bands, and the quality was ok. I have seen the red chord at sounds of the underground and knew who they were, and they were ok. Disturbed played well and to address the flat singing, well i agree, it wasnt his best of the best. I saw a show of theirs at the guvernment, when it was the warehouse and they performed with kittie, and that was an amazing show. Being an outside venue it was very good.

When slipknot came on we were near the back, since the people i hung out with were waiting for their friends to meet us there before we went closer. The mosh pits were ok, i was used to bigger ones with more people, but i really didnt get hit hard. It was ok.

I dont know who was selling 5 dollar water, but all the places i got water at was 2 bucks.
I did not pay for parking as people were parking everywhere. I parked at some driver school, where you didnt have to pay for parking.

The food was to be priced fairly high, as they need to make money somehow as the tickets weren't too expensive.

I basically paid for myself 13 dollars for food and drink. Not bad for a festival. The best thing about it was the free rockstars.

All in all, other than some stupid girl who kept elbowing me in my chest because she was on crack or something it was a good show.

Disturbed was awsome!! anyone that says they werent is an idiot, they played an amazing set. dead on!!!!
Slipknot killed it!!!
To whoever ripped my pants off me, your a bastard lol
i missed five finger death punch because the line was a fucking mile long!!!! but they sounded good
Mosh pit was awsome, im in so much pain now, but im loving it.
Hope to see another metal festival next year!!!
$5 is too much for water, especially when rockstars were free!!
the lines were fine, so to the girl that said they were horrible....you are a moron!!! i only waited like 5 minutes for a beer each time. but they did close too early, and they shouldve refunded money for unused beer tickets.
Fuck European fairy fag festivals, Canada does it best!!!!!!

The bands were good, and that's about the only compliment I can think of for this show. The sound was terrible on the main stage (I understand the supporting acts don't get a sound check and that the setups are configured for the headliners, but COME ON) - it faded in and out and all the levels were off.

The organisation was terrible, it took forever to get anything from merch, beer, in through the gate, whatever. There were no handwash stations for the toilets and I found no where to get sanitizer or anything of the sorts - but at least there was TP. (To the dude above me: "i missed five finger death punch because the line was a fucking mile long!!!! but they sounded good" <-- case in point.)

Food prices were extortionate - and yes, it's a capitve market, sure, but $5 for WATER is excessive. Especially when there was no place where we could refill water bottles afterward. None of our group wanted to go back for a second drink so we all left severely dehydrated.

The headlining bands rocked (again, the musicians were wonderful) but they should have rigged up video screens for the folks who didn't want to get down in the crowd. Downsview park isn't particularly level so even standing out of the main crowd no one could see the stage.

Parking was decent (only 10) but horribly unorganised, cars were getting stuck and I had to help a ton of people out of the mud. There were no roads, no plans of action and so after the show it was a mad car-dash to the exit with absolutely no order.

The show itself rocked, but I was very disappointed with the event planners. Sorry Canada, I know you tried, but I'm sticking to Europe for my festival events from now on.

Mayhem was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Free Rockstar Energy Drinks all day... I didnt have to spend a cent on food or liquids. I got to meet all of my fav band underOATH and got all my shit signed. Then got to see them front row.

Dragonforce was horrible but that was good cuz I dont like them anyways. Their sound was mangled it just sounded like shit. Disturbed was alright I guess the singer David Draiman (spelling) had an awesome intro but his singing was a tad bit flat.

Slipknot was incredible! Awesome pyro, awesome lights and the sound was dead on amazing. This was my 3rd time seeing them live and they still got it. Joey Jordison is the best drummer hands down period. They played lots of good songs and their screamer Corey Taylor's voice actually sounds alot better now Live than what it did the last time I saw them in 05... It still wasnt better than the first time I saw them at Ozzfest 01 but that was at the peak of their prime right before IOWA came out lol

All in all it was a great day it wasnt too hot and it wasnt too cold.... Mayhem had a HUGE turnout and I would be very suprised if they did not have another Metal Fest again next year.

AMAZING!!!!

Slipknot is the best live band around these days, no question. so much goes into their stage show. I haven't seen a show that intricately visual since the heydays of White Zombie

**edit** Miss_Kitten, umm..i guess you werent at the same show as me???

Water was only $2, i was so impressed by that! I never waited in line for more than 5 minutes to get beer either, all day. and there was hand sanitizer stations setup outside of the washrooms, i used it many times
