FUCK opera house.
if wodnb wasnt TC id be like FUCK it.
but I gotta see TC..
Monday March 24, 2008 - 11:36 PM
wow people seriously...
you knew you were going to a docks size event at the opera house, stop complaining already.
Monday March 24, 2008 - 12:03 AM
scary shit happened to me that night dude. security was NOT what I was expecting after going to the last FS gig at the docks.
All in all, Nicky Blackmarket and Benny Page made me SCREAM! they both played sick sets and I'm so happy I got to see them jam.
DEFINATELY was way too small. there was NO room to rinse man. People kept hitting each other and such.
it was a decent party, but I expect soo much more.
Thursday March 20, 2008 - 3:13 PM
The rave scene has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past 15 years but I want to make it clear how much the all ages scene is in danger right now. With NO venues currently available to host all ages events except Opera House, these types of situations are very much going to be a reality. The all ages scene is important because it feeds the rest of the scene as we all grow up.
Whenever having this discussion with youngsters, they list off a laundry list of venues that promoters should be throwing events at. What you don't realize is that if there was a financially feasible possibility to throw all ages events at different venues, promoters would be doing it.
Specifically in regards to this event, yes it was a zoo outside the doors and yes, the security was hostile due to the situation. The line-up was unavoidable and the good percentage of people having NO regard for the difficult duty the door people have to ensure legal necessities for YOUR safety is what caused the hostile environment.
I know it's been said over and over.. but buy your tickets for all ages events if you want to be guaranteed admission. This is now the new standard for these types of events in Toronto.
On to the party..
Benny Page was awesome! Played a few very unexpected selections and I was pleasantly surprised.
Nicky Blackmarket.. thank you FS for booking him for an oldschool set because that crowd did not even know what hit them! Exposure to beats like this is what will help build diverse musical tastes within this genre.
Skibba.. you seen him once you've seen it all. It's unfortunate to those who were coming and had never seen him, but I hope it showed some people that CADDY RUNS THE DANCE, PERIOD.
Thursday March 20, 2008 - 10:04 AM
Of course it would of been sicker at Docks but shit happens....

Insane Junglists!
Wednesday March 19, 2008 - 3:26 PM
i like the set up with the two floors..
and the stage and the balconies are cool..
but really, the opera house sucks.
it is sweaty, hot and filled with sketchy, disgusting creeps.
it's small, they over pack it, and their security are assholes..
extreme assholes.
this of course, as mentioned, it nottt FS's fault..
i'll continue to attend their parties at the shitty opera house..
but hope for the future we can find a new and better venue.
thank god world of drum and bass is 19+
at least it won't be packed with little 14 year old candy kids
sooo excited for that shit!!
all in all, kings of the jungle was.. okay.
Wednesday March 19, 2008 - 2:19 PM
Tuesday March 18, 2008 - 4:01 PM
alright.
jam was dece, not the best ive been to. tunes were just alright, nothing spectacular.
venue wasnt great, but thats nothing futuresound could do. the sound system there is just... gah.
to all you complaining about not gettting in- thats your own fault. you KNOW its at the opera house. you KNOW its a small venue. the opera house would be fucking stupid to let anyone in whenever. you guys need to understand its a fucking hazard to have that many people there. if anything, i think they let too many in, there was hardly any room to dance. and if say a fire were to happen, wed all be completely fucked. but whatever.
and to those complaining about security- did you guys hear about what happened to comfort zone? it got raided. venues should do their very best to avoid that hapenning, cause if it were to happen, we'd all be fucked. i know its really retarded for them to 'invade your privacy' and such but theyre doing it for a reason.
honestly im still gonna go to future sound jams, theyve been fuckin sick every one. this one, not so great.
laters
Tuesday March 18, 2008 - 10:42 AM
Party was hypeee!!!
Big ups to Future Sound anothing amazing line up
Nikky Blakmarket KILLED it!
I too was a little disapointed about the small venue...
I wanted to dance, but I kept getting kocked over.
And the rudness of the security was very disapointing. I understand your trying to keep things undercontrol but at any party girls are going to spend time in teh bathroom making themselves look pretty. It's our perogative! I'm sorry, but it's true. I literally just closed the stall door and the security started banging on it telling me to hurry the **** up.
They seemed wound a little tight. The opera house and their secuirty would be much better suited for smaller events. They/it can't handle the large crowds.
Overall a pretty great night, great people, and the engery in that place was amazing!
Sucks to all the people who didn't get in, getting to the event early is key! we were there by 9:30.
Once again, Big ups to the Future Sound Crew!
*peace*
Tuesday March 18, 2008 - 8:11 AM
Overall it was a pretty great party. I got in line at 12, was in pretty quick as we had our tickets already. I only saw Benny Page, which was fantastic, and Nicky B who was also prime, pretty po'ed about Skiba though as that was who I payed $25 to see but ah well, thems the breaks. My only qualms were the whole people spilling beer, luckilly I wasn't hit however I could see how that would be a pain. I really don't like the atmosphere at The Opera House, it was more of a concert then a rave. The sound system also was quite disapointing as I am used to The Docks(RIP). Great time regardless!
Monday March 17, 2008 - 10:06 PM
That venue is always a buzz kill. it was okay...i got bored though haa...but it was set up good, need some more air conditioning...security was tight but their just doing their job...speakers definately need upgrading for sure. but a fair party.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 9:22 PM
fuck the security at opera house im deffinatly boycottin this place.... my friend got kicked out for no reason she got searched then went to the bathroom some security girl was watchin her through the stall any way she came out and they searched her again i guess they thought she was a dealer or some shit but anyway after they found nothing they kicked her out for no god damn reason any way this is now why i am boy cotting the opera house, people come on we can find a way better venue
Monday March 17, 2008 - 5:03 PM
the opera house is not THAT bad of a venue, really the only complaint i have about it is the fact that the speakers and sound system should be upgraded i cant stand distorted bass in yo face, and the sounds didnt reverb(lol) properly some weird echoes obviously not like in the docks but docks bouncers are wack! yo security last night was not that bad they dealt with shit proper if you WANT to make SURE to get INSIDE the venue, get there madd early and be prepared to wait at least half an hour.. got to the lineup at 10 and was dancing by 10:35... all i can say is fukin dope party, even if shit flops remember the spirit of the party is in YOU, YOU make the party what it is. benny page and nicky nicky blackmarket boomtastic...... fukin BOH!
Monday March 17, 2008 - 4:42 PM
frankly, i had a great time! yeah, security was a little rude, but raves and ravers themselves come with a certain social stigma and it's pretty obvious we're not trying very hard to rectify that.
i didn't mind the opera house [was my first time there], but that's probably because i stood in line for half an hour before doors opened to make sure i got in. i usually like to avoid having beer spilled on my head, but i guess it's not the end of the world.
musically, i was a little disappointed with marcus. he's normally a highlight of my night, but i must admit i was relieved when benny stepped onstage and from there on out i was beyond impressed. loved blackmarket for dropping the old school tunes, but unfortunately we left shortly after he went on. and i personally THANK GOD skibba didn't show up, FS should have just stuck with caddy from the get-go.
overall, future sound really pulled this party off, despite the obstacles. my only real complaint was about the smokers in line who assume that because they've chosen to pollute themselves with carcinogens, everyone else around them should suffer too. butt out or step out of the line. i would GLADLY hold your place if it meant i wasn't inhaling your second-hand chemicals.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 3:07 PM
Well, Thank god i saw sum ppl i kno or i wuda never got in... vibe was iight wasnt drunk enuff so i didnt have that sik of a time... dotn reli like the Opera House but i guess my all ages ass has to get used to it for a bit n e wayz i was feelin Benny's set... as too Nicky B a couple tunes were sik but i aint reli into Old school but wat ever big up Future soun non the less doin the best wit what u got...... cant wait for tha 4 20 jam bwoii god answered my prazyer and sent me sum wobble wit a bomb M.c lol
Monday March 17, 2008 - 3:05 PM
Wasn't the best but i still had a really good time, it was to crowd'd so not much room to dance, but the music was sweet. just need a bigger place to party in, and yeaa security was really tight. which was lame but w.e it was alrite, but it sucks that some people waited in like for an hour and doors didnt even open till like 10:30 when it should have opened at 10. we froze our ass's off.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 11:19 AM
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported Future Sound in what turned out to be one of our hardest parties to throw put one of our best events to date!!
We apologize to anyone who didn't get in but we reached our legal capacity and were only allowed to have ticket holders enter once we got within 100 people of the limit, as at that time we still had 100 ticketholders yet to come in.
The reality is that I was outside when everyone was went home and it was MAYBE 75 people, so again we apologize and we strongly suggest you get your tickets in advance for future events.
Skiba was unfortunate but we didn't know he missed his flight until 9:00PM and we posted a sign BEFORE you paid cover announcing this fact. It sucks but these things happen (especially with skiba) but we got Eksman up next and we're bringing him him a day early!
Thanks again to everyone who came out, and on behalf of myself, animal and kaiser we want to send out much respect to all the future sound supporters!!
Expect only the BEST!!!
Monday March 17, 2008 - 11:08 AM
HAHHAHA good thing u guys all hate the opera house so i got more space to rinse at world of dnb. suckers.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 10:18 AM
Monday March 17, 2008 - 10:13 AM
big up futuresound
but.........................
fuck the nazi house!
Monday March 17, 2008 - 9:09 AM
So unfortunatley this is the event that has made me officially boycott the Opera House. After waiting in line for almost 2 hours, and being treated like shit, by the opera house staff, They let half us in, and then shut the door on the other half.
Telling them if they waited theyd be let in, wich never happened.
Security was ridicousley tight, and being spyed on while using the washroom, was a complete invasion of privacy.
The Venue was by far too small, I understand the circumstances, but It was too much.
The Sets were ridiculous, Nicky rocked the house, and Caddy, kept the crowd going.
I won't be returning to the opera house, but when future sound finds a new venue im all for it!!!
Too many people, too fucked up, and you need your space to brock out.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 8:51 AM
Monday March 17, 2008 - 4:16 AM
Everyone seems to be in the same agreement..
skibba not showing & the docks cancelling sucked
the opera house isnt the best venue. security there sucks & it gets mad packed, but it worked.
I had a blast, and everyone i saw inside seemed to be having a good time too
All in all ... good job Future Sound.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 2:30 AM
didn't make it out (had to flyer for the science centre party on april 5th!) but big ups to future sound for always putting on a high quality event.
i hope that someday very soon we find another large venue so we can once again unite the jungle massive and the hardcore massive like was supposed to happen this time.
in fact, the best thing you can do for the scene right now is scout venues. we're all in this together.
Monday March 17, 2008 - 12:10 AM
wow some mixed opinions, but you know what, future sound trys very hard to keep positive all aged parties and you have to give them madd respect, and the fact that skiba didn;t show up is a disapointment but thats the ups and down of business, you can;t always win.,.,., they made up for it with the 3 hour set, with the one and only nicky blackmarket, and even tho opera house is small and the bouncers (from what i hear) were horrible, at least thank god they didn;t cancel KOTJ 111 cause hey think of what ppl would be posting then, over all well done, and FUTURE SOUND thank you for keepin the parties real and can;t wait till light it up AGAIN what a line up, respect, just wanted to throw out another positive review PEACE
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 11:34 PM

Sunday March 16, 2008 - 9:59 PM
this event was toooo big for this venue.
security was strict and very rude
the rave was sick though, i enjoyed it until i couldnt dance anymmore .
i had an alright time .
wasnt the best though, and wasnt that amazing .

Sunday March 16, 2008 - 6:26 PM
Why Skiba!? i never even seen this guy yet and he doesn't even fucking come. Fucking broke my heart man. Caddy cad moved the crowd still. First time seeing Nicky Blackmarket and i was pretty impressed i must say. i was kina hoping to hear sum scratching but i guess he dusnt do that anymore. wooda been better at the docks but who gives a fuck! A rave is a rave right?
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 6:16 PM
sooooo the overall party music everything was fucking HYPE.
big uppsss to nicky blackmarket and benny paigee.
fuckk skibadee.
you disapointed all of us.
it always seems like hes "missing his flights"
whateveerr. makes all of us loose respect for him.
but man was this party rockinn.
so many peoplee.
security sucked. i got kicked out because i wasnt feeling good due to the fact it was hot sweaty and i was non stop dancing
and i got kicked out because i puked a bit.
i don't understand what the fuck the security is thinking kicking us out on the streets at 3 in the morning in the freezing cold.
wouldnt you rather keep them in there so they don't get lost in the coldness.
honesstly the security in the girls bathroom we're such bitches.
yelling " IF YOUR DONE FUCKING PISSING GET THE HELL OUT"
like have some respect for us ravers who pay 35 bucks.
but
wow
what a party.
i got up on the bar and danced my ass off.
1 of the most amazing raves ive been too.
:]
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 5:22 PM
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 5:12 PM
it was soooo hectic... BIG UP FUTURE SOUND!!! nicky and benny in a small venue rocked the house to peices... insane night
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 4:31 PM
unfortunatly i didnt go to the party as im not in the country right now but a) im sure it was hectic and b) theres way too much hating in this review. firstly, the bouncers can do whatever the fuck they want and if you dont like it then bounce, they trying to make sure noones dying in their club. secondly all of us have had to wait outside a party for more than an hour at one time or another, get over it, if it was possible to get you in you wouldv got in. as for skibba flopping...who gives a fuck, he rips the same lyrics everytime he comes which is every two months. dont get me wrong i like the man but if you wanna hear what he was gunna spit just download "phat mc'ing" over shy fx and there you go. *takes deep breath* other than that i hope everyone had a good time, benny page is one of the best producers/dj,s in the game and he aint in toronto nearly enough..big up future sound always laying down the best parties.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 3:49 PM
Toronto needs a bigger venue. One without fat greasy bouncers at the front doors and can handle some sort of line.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 3:45 PM
k
wtf
what is wrong with the security in the girls bathroom?!
they older lady fucking stepped on the toilet next to me and looked over and I WAS DOING NOTHING WRONG
isnt that some kinda of invasion of privacy..i can understand they are trying to control drugs at these parties
but they have no fucking right to do shit like that if they have no asurity that someone is doing drugs or whatever in the stall
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 3:32 PM
I understand that this event was supposed to be at the Docks originally so bringing it to the Opera House would have been a challenge.
However the people who waited in line were treated like shit by the people who work at opera house.
I waited in line for over an hour and was near the front when the line stalled for the final time. After waiting another half an hour, someone comes outside and says that ALMOST EVERYONE would be getting in.
The security woman wanted to blame us for the 3 complaints she recieved about blocking the sidewalk. WELL WHY'D you come out after three complaints, how about rectifying the situation BEFORE complaints, or even after the FIRST ONE
And then we waited for another hour.
And then the police gave them a fine because the line up was blocking the sidewalk and Opera House sent us all home.
That Fine is your fucking karma right there. You got greedy, making us stand outside thinking were getting in, meanwhile you fuckers are just waiting for enough people to leave or get kicked out so u can let us in and make us pay full price for half a show.
Opera House, it is not THE LINEUPS fault, that YOU CANT CONTROL IT.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 2:09 PM
Really good, but i was expecting better.
Note: To all guys that feel the need to try and grind with girls while DnB is playin' DON'T.
PEACE.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 11:50 AM
fuckin BOH!
security can suck my cock though
i cant take a fucking piss without the door getting looked over
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 10:42 AM
As much as people bitched about Skibadee being a no show and the opera house being to small, It was a pretty sick event.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 10:16 AM
good, despite the fact that there was kinda no room to dance. jungle stepping is too big for the opera house, not gunna lie. but i gotta love sxc junglist boys. meow.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 7:31 AM
First off, don't say the party was horrible if you didn't even get in, it's not the venues fault that it was a huge party and it was filled to capacity.
Second of all.
BEST PARTY OF MY LIFE.
Third Toronto party in Three years.

SIMPLY AMAZIN'.
Respect.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 7:31 AM
dont especially like the opera house but i had a pretty good time even despite the fact that skibba is an asshole and bailed on us again.. last time he didnt show up til 4am nd now hes just a no-show.
fucking big mcs from the uk dont give a shit about their canadian fans.
it srsly pisses me off that someone can have so many ppl pumped to see their performance for months b4 the show and not even show up.
anyways, at least nicky rocked it.
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 7:05 AM
yea horrible, didnt even get in
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 5:59 AM
Sick night, Nikki's set was better than I expected as I don't really like old school.
I was told though that I was Mr. No Fun cause the tunes that were being spun weren't making me dance like I was dancing on top of rainbows fairy step so apparently I had a screw face.
To all you young raver's, control yourself. You shouldn't be doing the funky chicken on the dance floor, especially when you need to be carried out and your 250 lbs. I can get down but if im telling you that your fucked...COME ON!
Sunday March 16, 2008 - 4:37 AM
Brutal. Opera house is a horrible venue.
