I'm happy I didn't go, I had a feeling DAVE wouldn't show though I'm sure he tried his best.

As for people shitting on the promoter, maybe you should just stfu unless you know exactly what happened.

Have any of you whiners ever thrown a party? Know how many hundreds of things that can go wrong?

The promoter has tons hundreds of good parties, shit happens, go cry to your parents about how your drugfest night wasn't what you were hoping for.

!!!Santa-Mike!!!

I went out for this, which is a rare thing these days...

not because i've got better things to do,
or that im too old for hitting a 'rave'...
and certainly it will never be that I think the scene isn't good anymore.

I just go when im there, and I was that night... accidentally actually.

But my friends I came with did their thing and I found a few people I knew, some people I just met and kept with a while... and when I hit the dancefloor later on I busted out when it moved me.

I paid, and I didn't mind.
Bought more drinks for people then was able to keep track...

AND I HAD A BLAST.

you know why??

... cuz I made my own fun with what I had,
who I had with me and wherever I was.

Don't expect a scene to hand you a perfect peice of jackshit...
if you wanna get down in the gutter, you gotta have a party in you... cuz its dirty-rrrrty good times, but you make it so.

Thats all... go about your over-dramatics.

Sketchiest event I've ever been to... weird (brightly lit!) venue, clueless and somewhat hostile venue staff, high cover, all ages/no all ages/all ages again, five goddamn dollars for a bottle of water, waiting and waiting and waiting for a promoter who never even showed... first 'DJ' on was some kid playing music off a laptop...

The only real highlight here was meeting and chatting with 'Stone Cold' Steve, who's gotta be the friendliest bouncer I've ever encountered.

I understand that promoters have trouble sometimes, but I was really disappointed with this party. Terror Inc. is usually better than this.

wow yo
i didn't even hit this one up

and so what if dave the drummer didn't show up it's not like they did it on purpose
soo everyone bitching stop and big up the promoters for trying to make this event happening...and if u have isssues with the way people throw partys throw them urselves and see how hard it is B'oHHHH!!!

londontrance shut the fuck up. oh no u drove in from london just do everyone a favour & shut your mouth. i can smell the horrid smell of shit from it all the way up in toronto. so the headliner got canned for good reason. u r lucky the event went on grow the fuck up & relax there. i dare u to try to throw him under a bus, im 100% sure u would end up getting your ass kicked well b4 u even got a chance.

That has to be THE SKETCHIEST shit I've seen a promoter do in a long long time. Assholes.
I drove all the way from london with 6 other people that were all REALLY excited to see dave the drummer.
Now they changed the venue 2 days before the actual party, didn't have turntables downstairs until AFTER MIDNIGHT when FLIM started playing, they charged us 20 bucks at the door AND THEY TOLD DAVE THE DRUMMER NOT TO SHOW UP.
How the fuck do you expect to throw parties, when half the dj's walk out becaue you paid NONE of them (yeah, NONE, not a SINGLE DJ got paid to be there that night) and you INSTRUCT the headliner NOT TO SHOW UP because you'll lose money because not enough people showed up to your event.
Anybody who reads this and has had a similar experience with these assholes, let me know

Seriously, maybe I'm just naive, but i honestly did not expect any of this, and all of the stuff i learned afterwards (from dave the drummer's WEBSITE and from other informed sources) has made me actually nauseous.

SHITIEST TORONTO PARTY EXPERIENCE ->> Thanks Terror Inc, you money-grubbing, sketchy assholes.

and to everybody else who wrote stuff like "life gives you lemons, make lemonade" and all that, i DO understand, and anyone that knows me knows that I'm the most "silver-lining" guy out there, but blatantly lying to your crowds (dave missed his flight, we don't know where he it, blah blah blah) and overcharging us doesn't leave us with a good taste...
I know I'm never going to another Terror inc party, that's for damn sure.

and ruffion, you're an idiot, i'm not talking about PHYSICALLY throwing a PERSON under a bus, that's fuckin stupid. it was a party, i'm not going to murder someone. jesus...
i meant METAPHORICALLY throw the company.....under the bus means that i don't give a shit about whatever i'm throwing. think before you say something moron

update: i will admit this is harsh, and obviously not everyone involved planned on all of this, but somebody fucked up seriously with this party, and i'm sorry if i'm offending people who ARE legitimate and DID make the effort to make a party happen; and obviously the dj's who DID show up and play did a good job; but whoever decided to tell dave not to show up and still charge us 20 bucks, you still suck.
end of rant.***

SORRY ABOUT TORONTO THIS WEEKEND!

Hello all
Apologies for not making it to Nightmare 4/20 in toronto this weekend
I'm very sorry to say that I was cancelled at the very last minute
in fact I found out AFTER I had already checked in for my flight
it was THAT last minute!
It was due to some complicated problems that I was not aware of at the time.
and I was told not to come by the promoter because at that stage there was no venue at all for the party

As it happens, in the end, a venue was found apparently
and as far as I am aware the gig went ahead, minus myself of course.

So apologies to anyone who came specifically to see me
I hope you either got a refund or you stayed and had a great time regardless.
Especially the lads from new york , its a long drive
I feel your pain.

Sympathy also goes out to DJ Unabomber, Christian, the promoter
I understand what a wind up these things can be.
and i'm sorry things went this way

next time eh?

I understand how things with parties can get horribly messed up last minute. But i am very dissapointed that i came from london AND had to pay $20 when D.A.V.E the drummer wasn't even there. Plus the security treated me as a child because im underage. I understand that the person organizing the party had no control of the fact and i do have to say i LOVED Ultraviolet!!! Definatly my favorite part of the night smile

Waste of time but luckily once we saw/heard how bad things were we left for the Future Sound event which was banging. Never again shall I stray from good jungle parties because of a few friends.

A little advice. If you're going to throw a small event like this, don't overcharge, darkraves are what, $15? and bounce is $10, so go figure.

Furthermore, show a little more respect towards your crowd, all-ages or not. Ultraviolet and the dj's and the promoters have my respect, but you'll be hard-pressed to get me to return to this venue.

I had a good time, but it was only because I was chilling with a lot of people I knew, but I was doing the same thing before the rave on the sidewalk outside, for free.

so yes you did miss a lot of good sets last night you just didn't give
any of the other djs a chance and thats bullshit 2 me.

It was awesome seeing everyone again,

this rave fuckin sucked! it would have been better if they planned the venue even a week before, not the night before thats where they lost alot people, i wish i went to light it up =S but i was really hoping to this rave to be awsome since the better djs were going to be there but that even do it, it was just so dead! not worth any stars but the bartender was awsome and he gave me a shot of tequilla cuz it was my birthday =) thats my highlight of the rave

Sunday April 20, 2008 - 7:02 PM

Okay, so, we all know that this party isn't at all what we expected it to be..
the club wasn't the greatest, the lights should have been dimmed or completely switched off, and the miraculous buzz that I did start to achieve.. completely died as soon as the music randomly dropped and ended...

So yes, yes, of course this rave was not the best, but it definetely didn't come close to being the worst.
(EVERYBODY WHO ATTENDED THIS RAVE)>>
You all chose to spend the 20$ to get in.
yeah, of course.. it might have lacked the enthusiam that I was truly expecting.. but.. this could happen any place, any venue, any night.
You need to make good things come out of not so great situations.
I did stay the whole night, because I used MY earned money on getting in... Which, no I do not regret.

I got there extremely early, from Oakville, just to be told by the owner of Labios, that they do not agree or host all ages events. Christian thankfully told our group of friends to wait for an hour, and eventually we all did get in. Although many people did end up leaving, & I wish they had stayed/./ I still had a pretty awesome time.
~!@#$%^&*()_+
WE NEED to thank Christian, and all of the other promoters for actually making this event follow through. Otherwise, a large sum of us would have been having to go through the trouble of finding a way home at odd hours of the night, or not being able to get home at all.

Everybody needs to realize that there were definetely flaws in the planning and organizing of this event. The venue should have been sorted out, if just even one week in advance. But these guys truly did work their asses off, (possibly only for money.. how the hell am I supposed to know) to make sure that everybody, including themselves, were enjoying what we were there to enjoy.
Everyone needed to completely forget about the set backs, and have fun with people that you showed up for <3

These guys found a place to host it, and (although last minute) found a decent venue to dance to and listen to. If they didn't do either of these things, we wouldn't have been able show off to the world, that this could be the only thing we all truly share in common/././We all love to party HARD!

I go to these events hoping that the music will be awesome,
and so I can hangout with the people I felt like I haven't seen in lifetimes!
This time, the music wasn't tooo shabby..
As long as it had that fast beat, tons of bass, and the people I love dancing right next to me. Who really cares what the song sounds like anyway?

Thankyou to the people I met up with throughout the night!
Not everybody there would think so... but I honestly think that everyone I was with can agree that, together, WE SHOOK THE DANCE FLOOR UP^! Us, and the DJ's, kept this party in motion once everybody was tired and lazy.

So, I hope I remembered everything that I wanted to say..
I'm sorry for my super long rant! frown
(Never let downfalls ruin the awesome time you should always be having)

P.S. You definetely should NOT drop the all ages raves and events etc., because I saw many people having as much fun as they possibly could. Many people did dance until they completely drained their body dry.
Next time, it just needs to be planned ahead of time so that everybody who is working knows what to do if the club won't support all ages, or a DJ wants to leave.(Which really sucks)

Thank you so much for not just giving up on everybody who had to wait outside for that unexpected long time.
Even though it was not the best event, or type of rave that suits my preferance/./You get TWO stars for making it the best it could have been.
I give all of you credit for giving us a fun night and a good time smile

all the disorganization and random lights turning on really confused me last night. i kept wondering what was going on and if/when we were being kicked out. i couldn't understand why nobody was there (other than the venue change) but now it's all much more clear. the venue was pretty good and i think there could have been a wicked vibe had that place filled up. i still managed to have fun though. i liked the downstairs smile

Sunday April 20, 2008 - 4:20 PM

tigger!!

obviously it was the venue that fucked shit up. a few days is more than enough time to work out the details of an all ages event at a licensed venue.

Dave the Drummer didn't NO SHOW the promoter said he CANCELLED at the last minute because there was no venue..which probably would explain the lame turnout no one knew where the venue was

you can't just leave the venue while your rave is going especially when things are fucking up. if your shit isn't organized properly and you have no venue the week before the event is taking place, you brought the stress on yourself.

Sunday April 20, 2008 - 1:24 PM

turn out was lame; i'm so sorry to hear about all of the venue problems! the party was thrown well, though.

well im pretty sure that was the last "rave" i'll ever do...

i'm done being fucked, dicked, threatened and more fucked by guido venue owners. If anyone was there at the beginning they know what happened.

basically we were told 2 hours before opening that the party was not gunna happen. by the venue.

same thing we found out on wednesday about our previous venue.

then after much litigation and mediation we managed to get them to allow JUST 19+.. so we FINALLY got to set up , around the same time we were supposed to open.

THEN an hour and a half in we finally convince them to let the all ages in. After 80% of them had already left.

Because of the delays at the beginning, our sound/lights/decor barely even got used whatsoever.

Basically the club took over the event at our door and wuldnt even give us any money from our door sales to pay djs or anything.

DAVE THE DRUMMER didnt make it due to the fact that on thursday when he was to get on his flight we told him not to. Because we still hadnt confirmed a venue 100%. Then on friday morning when we found out we had a NEW venue.. we tried to reclaim the ticket we had postponed but Dave The Drummer didnt get the email in time and had over ridden our potsponing the ticket (that we had to pay to do) and checked in for his flight, THEN got the message of the cancellation, got off the plane and therefore we lost the flight.. a couple hours later we told him we HAD a venue and wuld offer to fly him with a 2nd flight but that offer was denied on saturday afternoon for good reasons.

as for promoters leaving with a big bag of $$? let meknow who cuz i need some to pay back everyone for that party!
the venue took over 80% of our door leaving us to pay the bills for everything on our own.
i culdnt be there the whole night as i was still running around trying to do things until 11pm that shulda been done at 7pm after being delayed all night.
just as i finished djng i was whisked away by another task that needed my attention. and by the time i had returned the venue had shut things down.

basically i am sick of being fucked over and fucked around and therefore forced into a position where i have to do the same to some of my best friends and people i admire and respect a whole lot.

So i'm dropping all ages events and "raves" in general from my repertoir .. sorry people. I'll still fully help other raves find suitable venues and promote the rave lifestyle but i simply cant handle this amount of stress anymore.

thanks to those who did show up and party. and had fun.
and BIGGEST thanks to those who made it still happen...
CARA (my support), KEN & KERRY, SPEDFREK & GABBO, EMAIL SEAN, AMY, GARY, and all the dj's and performers.

ALSO.. ULTRAVIOLET WAS AWESOME!! SO THERE!!

peace.

other than d.a.v.e. the drummer not showing, and problems with the venue and or promoters and club owners; i thought it was a pretty fun night

the dj's that were playing did the best they could with what they were given, its does suck that they just ended halfway through the pa set at the end of the night
yes it was sort of a flop, but there were still dj's playing and in my opinion they all did a fantastic job

Flim's set....rockin, best of the night for me
jen mas, also very awesomesauce
other than that met some cool new people and saw a few old friends; just chilled around, danced and enjoyed myself as much as i could
(the 5 stars are for the dj's that rocked out last night)

I would rather see rotting squid pulled apart then go back to this party.

The promotor(s) need to wise up and actually PUT effort into a party or simply give up altogether. Showing up and darting off with your bag of money doesn't grant you a title of "promotor". More like thief OR hack.

Party ended at 330 because NO ONE was left in charge and I guess the venue decided to bail and toss everyone out.
denied.

The live act was also dicked around and not given his due. The house even TURNED the lights on to tell him it was time to end his set. WTF.

The party scene of toronto isn't your personal bank account. Shape up or ship out.
I'd hate to see more kids torn away from their money and given a horrible experience like this.
Learn2knowbusiness&stuff.

All it took was the simple request of "you should probably turn the club lights down...people would like it better.." to get people back onto the floor and feeling more comfortable.
Did this come from a DJ or a promotor? No. This came from a customer that apparently gave a shit more then the people running it.

Disaster.

Get a clue.

Sunday April 20, 2008 - 2:08 AM

!!gecko!!

Shame that Dave the Drummer was a no show, but how long was this known about.

Is this why venue was undicisive and time slots were left blank on Friday.

The venue was different, I give it that much, but delays with the downstairs too seemed like this whole thing was in shambles from the biggining.

I could keep on going ,but its probably best left with the rating.

The mising stars are due to lack of organization and vibe, the two stars only go to the venue.

Not worth the $20.00 and if known that Dave the Drummer wasn't showing, I should get my money back. I actually feel ripped off, and so do my friends.
