It Was Pretty God For The Time I Was There
Kinda Got Kicked Out Earlyish
But Meh, It Was Good
Got To Dance To Some Pretty Ill Tunes
Got Some Of The Rave Energy I Had In Me Out
Which Made Me Smiles && Starshine
So I Was Pleased.
Not The Best I've Been For For Sure
But Definately Not The Worst.
Happy I Didn't Go To rinse Out Instead tongue

Boy oh boy.
If only the security didn't have to have a huge pineapple in all their asses, things would have gone alot more smoothly.
And uptight security just plan ol' sucks.
But whatever.
I wasn't drugged up, like they thought I was.
I was just wasted off my ass.
And so I dont remember anything after getting checked by the security.
I got PICTURES! >=D
I heard the music wasn't all that great, but I heard Wendy Law was good, and I seriously wanted to see her, which I apparently did...but I dont remember.. =/

OH, and I met some lovly ladies in a near by alley before we went inside, and got some random candie, that I DONT know who I got it from..

Gooood times, I guess.
I just hope the next underground rave doesn't go legal.
And if they're going to hold a rave at the Opera House, make it last all night, please.

Not sure what my rating would be..
I'll give it a...4

less people = more room to dance

i like the way the ravers have been putting it instead of using the turn out issue negativelysmile

i was a little late, and i left a little before shut down.. but during the time that i was there my friends and i had a good time. as soon as the drama kicked in, we started to feel less at home and felt like making an escape.

i saw capital j spin for the first time in ages (since the sound bar closed down.. believe it or not.) and i was amazed. i didn't realize how much i've missed dnb since friday night... it was awesome!

i sure as hell can't wait for 'strictly business' now!

it was nice to party in the opera house again, and always a pleasure to party with the terror inc. crewsmile

fist fights and overdoing drugs are for ally ways.. please keep it out of the events to avoid them being shut down, or to avoid the promoters from putting a stop to their events altogether.. unless thats what you REALY want...roll eyes..

alright night. i had some fun. sercurity can be a little tight lol BUT how many problems to have at the opera house .... on one would thing of screwing around there. there was some bullshit @ this event, but thats all it was.

Great to see an event with djs that I KNEW WHO THEY WERE lol

another event under bomber belt!

It was pretty ok... The party would have done better if it was packed but, I think that so many people are affraid of the opera house security that they'd just rather go some where else.
I mean come on.... Kicking in doors when people (ecspecially girls) are peeing, acting like everyone is a criminal, over gharging at the door. These are thing that only a Mickey Mouse operation will do. When you allow a rave to happen at your venue.... There are some things that you have to expect/even allow. All that's really being accomplished by the security is lost revenue from people that won't come back.
I had an ok time at the party. I like Rex Manning. Sucks that Timmi didn't get to spin.

Wicked party, Wendy Law and Capital J had amazing sets that got my feet moving.

i was expecting a better turn out, but that doesnt really matter.. more dancing room for me smile

it sucks that once again people causing drama resulted in the party closing down early.. learn to keep that shit away from the party so that your not ruining other peoples nights by your actions.

the security on the other hand, yeah there a bit uptight, there just doing their jobs though, even though it was a little ridiculous how they acted, i had to empty my pockets in the bathroom, i was only washing my hands.. just don't give them a reason to be a betch to you, and all is good.

Wicked party Christian!!

well for a birthday rave it definitley wasn't what i expected but whatever!
i mean the rave itself was great! smile and the dj's (esp. wendy law & capital j mmmm) were sickkkkkkk! but the goddamn security! like fuck, RELAX. you know we're basically all high. you don't need to kick down the goddamn doors if someone's clearly taking a piss. fuckkkkkkk. it made me miss big bop frown but what happened anyway? why'd it get shut down soooooooo early?!?! i was so sad i was tearing haahaha

but thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and all the hugs/kisses/candy/necklaces, i love you all smile

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 10:44 PM

.:Shlee:.

So good to have a change of venue for once

sucks that more people didnt show

I enjoyed myself

Some people need to learn some respect.
If the security tells you to do something, DO IT!
(within reason of course)
They are only doing their job!

P.S Leave your drama at home next time!

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 10:13 PM

kizzzzzzzombie

the music was pumpin' n jumpin'!!! all DJs played Sick sets!!
tooo bad the party got shut down before the happy hardcore set though (N) i'm actually starting to like that stuff.

well, GOOD happy hardcore, anyways tongue

i didn't witness much drama, so that was good for me.

i had a fantastic night, had fun dancing my heart out ...
although there needs to be more jungle @ parties, or just more jungle parties in general!!!

i don't rinse out enough .... i like .. forgot some of the things i used to do. lol fuck!!!! (N) frown ... oh well, that just means more parties at my place happy rinse tha fuck out!!!!!

or as i learned last night, RINSING really is when a DJ mixes 2 records so clean and smoothly together.. so it really has nothing to do with dancing at all lol. although i can't remember at all what the actual "jungle dancing" styles are called. except for STOMPIN' of course happy i definitely don't do enough of that anymore lol

i had a WICKEDDDD time, except for the fact that i felt sick to my stomache most of the night. being allowed outside (even when you're not 19) was a HUUUUUGEEEE plus on my/that part, the fresh air made me feel much better.

the Opera House rocks for events!!!! although the security is a little uptight sometimes (yeah the "LITTLE" old lady LOL), you just gotta stay on their good side. but she did remind me a lot of one of my teachers i had dubbed "POWER TRIP PATTI" .... she was kinda anal about EVERYONE.

even though the party got shut down early, it wasn't the end of the party!! chullin down by the beach was funtimes, i spose. although i think i enjoyed the walk there more than actually chilling there... lol ... i donno my friends are whack and i felt kinda out of place ... but oh welps.

GREAT NIGHT!!!! despite the let downs (Y) (N)

<333

oh yeah, and the fact that there wasn't much of a turn out made it WICKED for dancing happy

P.S. the best idea is to make friends with the security, be nice, kind, respectful, do as they say .... and if you're doing anything "naughty" BE INCONSPICUOUS.

they even check you out when you're in the stalls :|

so be careful!!! lol.... that old lady .. what a creeper tongue

p.s. where were all the other people on the attended list?
i swear there was max like 100 heads there..

This was a good party, despite it getting shut down early. I had a great time. First time hearing Capital J too. He's awesome on the decks.

I doubt I will ever go to a party at the Opera House again though. Security just seemed to be on a real mission to make people feel unwelcome.

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 4:45 PM

I think I feel the same way as pretty much everyone else who has written a review.
Wicked music!! LOVED Wendy Law and Cap J in particular! Props to the DJ's for amazing sets, but the security was just a pain in the ass.
I can respect that they're just watching over everyone for their own general safety; but it was if we were INVADING their territory or something. They were out with a freakin' VENGANCE!
You couldn't even simply take a piss without the security banging on the door and giving you nasty looks every time you walked by.

I definetly don't think think i'll be going back to the Opera House anytime soon. As mentioned by Minion, they didn't have a single chair in the place, and security was hardly happy about people sitting on the floor (Or us simply BEING there. hah).
It's too bad, because overall, it could be a really sweet venu!!

I agree though, that Bop should really get an outside/smokers area like that. Under 19's need air too!

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 4:41 PM

stereolion

I had a lot of fun last night.

I have respect for security guards and the role they play at parties but some of the staff at the opera house are brutish bullying asshole pigs.

i wasn't really surprised about the turnout. date/location confusion and other parties happening = whatever. The people who were there were rocking out pretty hard.

rave happened, i'm happy.

I had a lot of trouble getting in. Three of us only had 30$, because we thought we'd get there before 10. Unfortunatley we had to wait for the bus, and we got there at around 10:15 instead. Suddenly the pride was 20!! What? We haggled slightly and the security said she'd let us in for (what we interpreted was) 10$ each. When I gave her 30$ she rejected it, saying that she'd let one of in for 20$, and the other two for 10$. I didn't have anymore money! We whined a bit, and she said we could pay with bank cards. So I got out my bank card and she was like "AHA, YOU WERE LYING, YOU DO HAVE MORE MONEY!!" and she said that I would have to pay 20$ as well. So it went from 30$ up to 50$. I went and found out I had NO MONEY on my bank card, came back and told her so.
She wouldn't let me in.
So Kai asked Unabomber and he let me in for whatever change I had on me (which was like 2$)
I have to say THANK YOU SOOSOSOSO much Unabomber, you rock smile I had an amazing time once I got in, you guys had some amaazzinggg mucis. DnB / Jungle is a lot of fun to dance too, and the Venue is great even if the security sucked.
They even made me check my bag, and made me pay 3$ more (my friend had to go and... get... some money from his... friend so I could pay to get in). They also accused my friend of having a straw when it was actually just a melted piece of plastic, ftw?
The water was really expensive :/ I got really thirsty but had no water. Lol. Basicly other then security and pricing issues it was fine.

even though i didn't even go to that party the security was pain in the ass while i was standing outside of the opera house and just watching them looking at us like we're some criminals, watching our every step but w.e its not that i put zero stars before cuz the party sucked cuz of the security, Unibomber....all respect to him ever since i start raving i attended every party of his and i always have fun...so u gotta respect that guy he's one of the best promoters...xoxo

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 3:15 PM

!!!GETSICK

BUT NO LAST NIGHT WAS AWESOMEEE while i was there.
i have i fucking DJ for you ALL
CAPITAL FUCKING J!!!!!!!!!
holy shit. what a fucking SET. that guy can rip the fucking tables for sure.
i dont think ive ever had more pictures taken of me in my life then last night lol
wasn't that drunk but i think that ended up being for the best, as i was able to make up excuses that actually made sense to come home haha.
i had a lot of fun, and i saw a lot of people smile which was really nice.
it sucks that it got shut down early. honestly i'm getting so tired of people who abuse the scene weekend after weekend, partie after partie. seriously. just STOP FUCKING COMEING if all you want to do is ruin everything for everybody. finger finger JUST STAY AT HOME!!!
the opera house is actually a really nice venue aside from the security. i almost got thrown out for saying something stupid.. ahhaha. stupid megan. i really liked the smoking area though. big bop should get that FTW.

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 2:56 PM

FUCKIN SECURITY...

I wasn't into the first two sets, but around 12:30, it got awesome. Left early cause security was just bringing me down...standing outside the bathroom stalls, following me around...

FAK.

hope it all went well. I wanted to make an appearance but a friend's birthday took precedence.

!!PHILabong

The music was good, I like the venue but I hate the security guards, which makes me sorta hate the venue but then again if u just mind ur own business, enjoy the party, and have fun then the security aint gonna bother u.. if u give them a reason too then expect them too.

I left just as capital J was coming on cuz i had to work the following day, but the music was good while i was there..

deff a plus the $4.75 beers vs $5.25 at the bop

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 9:31 AM

Minion

I like the opera house, the DJ's were delicious per usual, I wish the opera house had somewhere for those under 19 to sit down, it's kind of degrading to be forced to sit on the custy floor. Not that I'm a particularily clean person or a germaphobe of any sort but y'know....

At least it's not the bop.

Although, I really can't effing stad the opera hose security. I do my yes sir, no sir's as obedient as possible, and I still get the bathroom door KICKED IN while I'm taking a piss. They really don't go out of their way to make you want to come back. And the drink prices are fucking brutal T_T I just wanted some goddamn juice *flail* </rant>

Anyways, good party, glad I left before it got shut down, though it sucks that that happened.

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 9:14 AM

four2024seven

opera house is a wicked venue, big up terror inc for throwing down there, id love to see more events going on there!

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 8:22 AM

Pocket

It was decent. I walked in expecting to see a crowded venue, found one suitable for a nice game of tag.

I always love hearing Wendy Law spinning, my favorite set had to be Capital J and the one playing after him.

It sucks that the party got shut down early but the hero award goes to Amanda for telling off the security guard bashing on Amy and Joy. Other than the little argument outside I thought security were pretty nice, nice to me anyways.

For my first completely sober party, I enjoyed it a lot.

The only downside was that it was posted $10 before 10, $15 before midnight, and $20 afterwards. But I was charged $20 to get in at ten past ten. Even after having a bitch fit on the guy at the front door. + $4 for a bottle of water is a ludicrous price.

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 5:33 AM

jro_xoxo

That party was loads of awesome even though it got shut down early...

Awesome music.
The set of the night was definitely Mr. Brown vs. Spinz.
I rinsed out [sorry- "brucked" out roll eyes] on stage until my face turned purple! wow

The security guards WERE really crabby [per usual]; I even saw one instigate a fight with some kandi kids until the owner finally called the cops...

The thing about the security guards at Opera House, is they always have to have the last word. If you don't, "yes sir", "no sir" them, you're usually out on your ass for the rest of the night; partyless, friendless, FUNless.
So lesson of the night;
don't fuck around with Opera house security, or your ass cheeks and the Queen street pavement will have quite the rendez-vous, let me tell you wink

Anyways, I don't know [or care] about you, but Iiiiii had loads of fun. Can't wait 'til the next party!
<3peace&love

meh.. weve definately had BIGGEr parties but we knew that was coming.. atleast no one got bottled (lol)

so yeh.. dj's who played played AWESOME!

Opera House is a MINT place (esp compared to Big Bop)

Too bad so many immature idiots still decided to cause sufficent amounts of drama to result in us being shut down early.. but whatever.. all attendees will be getting a notice of discount for our next event in compensation. See u all OCTOBER 27th - HALLOWEEN!!! - The Docks!

Saturday September 08, 2007 - 3:42 AM

lair_driver

Showed up at around 11:30= just in time to hear Rex Manning slamming out another wicked set. Those two flow like water. Nice to see the full 4 deck action going on too.. Afterwards, Capital J came on and for some reason it got MUCH louder.

haha.hmm..wonder why!!? Capital J pretty much is the best DnB Dj this city has to offer. Its pretty funny when some of the so called big names in the city play Capital J tracks, infact- pretty much all of the WEMF DnB headliners - play his tracks!! I didnt get to see him scratch it out though..he has some serious turtable skills though.

I like Opera House for a venue, the Security seemed a little crabby. But then again , people werent cooperating and being noisy and retarded out side. Being disrespectful to little old lady Security Guards isnt cool, if that was my mom trying to make ends meet - id hang you upside down in front a streetcar by your ankles. It also pissed off the venue owner severely.

What was with the Jerry Springer cat fight out front anyways?? Not the massive turnout that I thought there would be, but still a solid jam!
