it was an O.K. party, but i was really disappointed that the kathedral was used as the main room. I've always found it to be better for concerts. Saw a lot of familiar faces. The DnB/Jungle definitely would've been better received in the Kathedral.
What the fuck was up with that live performance in Holy Joe's ? I paid 10 bucks to hear some high-rate BPM, not a trio of ugly bitches on acoustic, and I dont give a fuck if its your birthday.
Sam Punk redefined Hardstyle for me as well.
The after party was also killer, excellent as usual bomber.

THANKS FOR HAVING ME OUT I HAD A FUCKING BLAST THE WHOLE WEEKEND!!!!! It was a great first experience in Toronto. My back is FUCKED UP from the beach saturday I have a hardcore 2nd degree sunburn that's blistering & looks fucked since Toronto has like no ozone layer lol but it was worth it. The party was fun times, I thought Winnipeg was notorious for people bitching about everything but guys...you're bitching about ravers & how fucked up they were, not the party or the music, so basically you're bitching about yourselves...

The hardstyles kept me goin most of the night. I loved the heavy beats. Dancing in 4 pound (each), 5 inch platform boots is fucking difficult, but damn, I was SO PUMPED! I brought extra shoes just in case, but I didn't want to MISS a second of the music once I got into it, and when I wasn't on the dancefloor, I was outside getting my nicotine fix. I gotta say, my legs are still sore from that night.
And the "kiddies" do have to stop ruining the events. Gives the rare mature youngin's like me a bad name.
Luckily, like silver_sunkis said, the good outweighed the bad. The good distracted me from the bad actually. Good people, saw some old faces, met some new ones. Music made it for me.
Def. one of the better parties I've been to IMO.
When going to an all ages event, you GOTTA look past the kiddies, the drug usage/abuse, the stupidly intoxicated nakedness, and the stupidly dress folk. Amongst with the older creepers and sketchbags. Otherwise, you're GOING to have a bad time.
Props to Unabomber and the crew for throwin the party and making it worth my time and money.

Wow.. what a night.
Left Sudbury by 5:30 / Arived in Toronto by 9:00 but due to traffic didn't hit the venue till around 10 ish
This was my first time not only playing this venue but being here period. Headed into the doors and bang... first peoples I saw was Mrs. Lady Bass and the Imfomous (lol) Ken Finch(y) .. lol.. they had just gotten off the tables and told us they couldn't beleive the crowd. So by this point I was even more stoked.
Got inside and the place was just that.. Hoppen & a Boppen (wow that was a cheeze Line lol.. meh).
Dj. Caution: Wow dude.. hahaha I told you this that night but you rocked it man. The tracks you played where right up my alley and If there is ever a chance of you and I playing together I think it would make for a very interesting and energetic set. Hope you have a safe flight home and I look forward to hear and seeing ya again

Well, for the first couple hours,
i was really disappointed.
Im just kinda pissed that not all the rooms were opened,
seemed pretty cramped and a lot hotter than usual.
Whenever i went upstairs there was either no music on,
or the music was SUPER LOW. I just didnt bother to waste my time anymore....but ive read some of the reviews and it seems that at one point there was music going on up there...
what a shame.
Definitely not one of the better raves ive been to.
When they played Aqua, that was the highlight of my night.
I lost my mind.
I realize that it is a rave,
and people do take their clothes off,
and are all fucked up on drugs,
but COME THE FUCK ON!
Theres a thin line between what is and isnt acceptable.
and as far as im concerned, 45% of the rave CROSSED the unacceptable line.
Sure, if you want to do drugs, go ahead, i used to come to raves all fucked outta my mind as well,
and looking back, im ashamed of myself,
because now i see everyone all retarded and think
"wow, i really hope i NEVER looked like that"
Plus, learn how to dress yourselves.
You can wear little clothing and still manage to look hot,
rather than trashy and disgusting, like the majority of the girls at the rave did.

plus i had my I.D. on me.
I dont see why people have such an issue with bringing I.D.
what if you were to get too fucked up and end up having to go to the hospital? How are they going to identify who you are?

I do agree though that the way security is treating the majority of the people is unfair. If they expect us to follow the rules, they should follow the rules too.

But they are CORRUPT security guards who arent respecting their own rules, let alone expecting us to. I wasnt one of the people taking tokes or snorting a bump of K on the dance floor, but thats besides the point. Its just a piss off that even if you were to do it in the privacy of a washroom stall, people are still liable to get caught, more so than those out on the dancefloor, as long as you're on their good side.
I love how they can enforce "zero tolerance" when they feel its necessary. Kinda defeats the purpose of zero tolerance in the first place.

The security was really pissing me off... having them walk through really ruined the mood at times. And the ID thing is getting ridiculous; I'd prefer NOT to bring serious ID like a driver's license or health card to downtown TO when I'm going to be moving around and really have no place to put it. At most raves I'm wearing a tank and a skirt, and backpacks just get in the way. My student card says "grade 12" and has my picture... what the fuck kind of 15-year-old is in grade 12?
As for the lack-of-clothes thing... I don't blame people, it was really goddamned hot in there. It -was- kind of disgusting seeing obviously younger girls, but I'm no conservative, as long as you're not forcing me to look that way or grinding against me do whatever the fuck you want.
Music was good, nothing I was bored with. Upstairs sucked, but there were enough places to sit for whoever needed it. That's always a plus.

as for the kiddies, i mean, REALLY this is not a drug fest or a swingers club, please keep your clothes on maybe your head just a little bit more next time you and you and you and you are the reason security has to be like that, no body likes to see you trippin and flippin out on stage ..
on another note - please stop running around like chicken with your head cut off going on about 'being too sober' and begggin people for drugs.

Security is getting more and more fucked at the Big Bop.
Eachtime I go, I see so much corruption and it makes me sick.
+If the flyers say $10 before 10....allow people in for $10 before 10
+If you are going to make people who are obviously older than 16 show ID, make EVERYONE show ID, regardless of how little they have on
+If you are going to sneak girls who are fucked out of their mind bumps of K, while you think no one is looking, don't kick out other people who are doing K, while they think no one is looking
+If you are going to charge people "extra" because you suspect they are dealers, and give them a rough time, don't have insiders deal your shit
+If you are going to make the guys put their shirts on when they take them off, have the fucking curtosey to do the same with the underage girls who may or may not be too fucked up to realize what they are doing
+If you are going to jump over a bathroom stall door to rag people on their drug use, make sure you KNOW they are actually using
Among other things, security really kills the mood...maybe just for me, but bad vibes lead to bad energy, leads to bad trip and ultimately, bad experience.
Music was good though, especially upstairs

Solid party. Unabomber, Sam Punk, Xofer sets were the best.
I really didn't mind there being only 2 rooms because there was always good music in one of them and it condensed the crowds, keeping the energy levels high for the whole night.
afterparty was good too. I wouldn't call a pile of gravel and dirt next to the lake a beach but it was certainly a lot of fun.

I went into a men's stall, locked the door and was doing a bump when a security guard went in the adjacent stall and looked over the wall at me. he took it and told me i could go back to the party. i was being discreet, i wasn't off my face, and i still can't get a break. sooner or later, the cops are just going to move in on the management/staff.

My first rave since January and I gotta say I was a little disappointed. A 16 yr old girl I knew who wore a bikini and short shorts got in without showing ID, while myself and 2 friends had to wait and get fucking "X"'d because student cards don't have birth dates on them.
Didn't see too many people I knew there except those I came with. Lots of people were assholes...what happened to PLUR? -_-
The music was pretty good though. Maybe I missed some of the better sets since I only stayed just over 2 hours.
I wish there was more black lights and crap though.

really sad i missed frisky's euro set.. from what i hear, it was really good.
too bad the two sets i stayed until the very end of the party for BOTH got cut way too early.. but that's always the problem with closing off a party.. so i guess it was to be expected.

I had a wonderful time at this party.
Yes, it was all-ages, which is something that has had the ability to direct my night in a negative direction in the past, but at this party specifically, there were so many good things I chose to acknowledge that influenced my overall impression of it.
For one, the music was wonderful.
Although this Purple Heaven strayed from the traditional atmosphere of past Purple Heavens (with the emphasis on trance and black lights... which there were none of unfortunately none of  ) the music styles were still killer, and the energy from the people enjoying themselves and really getting caught up in the spirit of the party emanated exponentially and was reflected in how I came to view the night overall.
...I didn't mind the hard beats one bit, I actually LOVED them! (of course... look who's talking evil )
Although I would have liked to actually get to see Cynex and Elixir get more than half a dozen mixes in before they were shut down...
(staying at a party til the end expecting your boyfriend and friend to drop a SICK set to end off the night with, but be sadly disappointed when the party is shut down early TOTALLY sucks when you've stuck through the entire thing for that purpose!)
... the amount of dancing I got in beforehand made up for it.
Secondly, there were a LOT of familiar faces to be found within the sea of overtly immaturity.
Paying attention to those people completely distracted me from anything that I would have found as irritating otherwise.
I just learned to laugh at the things that could otherwise ruin my overall impression of the party...
You have to remember, not everyone is as composed in how to act and what is or is not acceptable at a party.
They can only live and learn, and hopefully get to the point one day where they realize what the scene is TRULY about and alter their engagements within it accordingly.
I got a lot of really good ideas for my thesis at this party.
Acknowledging the good, the bad, and the ugly (and boy, was there a lot of the ugly  )...
but overall I had a fantastic time.
And thank god Big Bop has air conditioning!
One up on Funhaus for the time being anyway 
Although there were some disappointments, in the end the good outweighed the bad and I had a fantastic time.
I can thank the good tunes and a lot of people for that one

i've only been to 5 parties, but this one was my least favourite, which sucks because 3 of my really close friends went and it was their first one, which is the best thing about it. i didnt like the hardcore, it was pretty soft. the best music of the night, i thought was the jungle in Holy Joe's at like 2:00+ ?? but i left at like 3:30 because my boyfriend was sick, and i had an upset tummy for about an hour too, but his persisted all the way until like 7. Also, my sister was gonna come, but she went in the wrong door, and security wouldn't let her through to the other side, and then when she went to the right door, this security guard who was "completely fucked off her face" was trying to make her pay another $20!

"that's because you aren't listening to me!"my sister said, "I WENT IN THE WRONG SIDE!"
so she never got her money back, my boyfriend puked 4 times, and basically, i know a lot of people who felt very ripped off. I'm not saying i didn't enjoy it at all, i did at times, but there were too many let-downs to ignore.

The only thing that was amazing about last night were the people. My friends and new people I met, that's it. the party SUCKED. The music wasn't that good, it was hotter than usual, I felt like I'm going to faint any second and no it wasn't cus of the e.
Totally not worth my 20 dollars.. and by the way i was in the line before 10 pm and still had to pay 20. WTF?! I was so mad. so not worth it.
It was my first time feeling bored at a rave. god
Doctor Jones was awesome though. highlight of my night haha.

Number One: I was one of those people who almost walked in. Not because I think I'm gangster G dawg-- just because I wasn't clear on where you get searched and where you pay. They seem to do it differently each time.
Number Two: I was one of the people who puked, and no it wasn't because I was totally fucked up on drugs. It was because I was in intensely hot atmosphere with nowhere to go to cool down. Yes Kids, people can actually get sick from thinsg OTHER than drugs at raves... such as stupidity.
Number Three: Yes, it's easy to preach to the underage kiddies while online, yet when they're standing in front of you all you can muster up is some creepy staring. Get a grip.
Number Four: Security and others need to stop the following~
Stop acting like you don't know people are taking drugs.
Stop acting like you your selves don't take drugs.
Stop acting like you don't then hit on girls that are fucked up on drugs.
I'm pretty sure we've all seen this happen before. KTHX!

There were some real sketchbags though, like the guy who had to be carried off the kathedral dancefloor in a body bag thing by the ems people. -_-"

I enjoyed the party for the most part. I didnt get the full experience as I worked the door most of the night. When I came in, I heard Frisky hammering out some ultra cheesey Euro. But thats what he was booked for and he delivered. Reminded me of the early 90's alot. Christian and SOS played a great set. Reminded me very much of Espace and early Nightmare parties. Sam Punk was great, but I only caught about half of his set. Super nice guy, he is actually Croatian -but lives in Germany. Interesting..
The only cons I had are - When you are coming into the front door, dont push past the door guy like you own the place. Show your wristband, your stamp, proof of payment or EXPECT to get hassled. I stopped about 5 people last night that just tried walking in. This isnt a 50 Cent Video and your G-Unit crew still has to pay to get in.
Second, Im mortified by how hard some 'KIDS' are partying. I do mean kids. With the amount of puke and all sorts of other nasty crap- it just puts further stress on our allready beaten scene. There are no RIGHT rules to doing drugs, as it is a moral choice. However, when you do drugs in Public- you become someone elses problem.
There are not many companies doing all ages parties in this City, if we keep it up- we wont have any left..SMARTEN UP!

just a few things to rant about lol
If you are told to stop dancing on the stage and to get off the stage
there is obviously a reason that you are being told this.
there is no need to be childish and argue about it.
we don't want to see your 16 year old half naked body flailing around on the stage anyways.
Some of us came for the music not to see live kiddy porn, believe it or not.
Also, If you are removed from the club because you do not have i.d to prove that you are over 16 than too fucking bad.
It's been posted multiple times informing people that people under 16 years old are not allowed to be inside after a certain time.
The simple answer to your problem ? Bring identification with you.
Those girls who couldn't sing in the prom dresses in holy joes made me want to hang myself.. and screaming "it's my birthday give me drugs" REAL CLASSY!

overall a good party. A few too many fucked up and retarded people, but ah well, it happens. Station fucking killed it. Set of the night IMO.
and to those bitching about the lack of jungle....if you wanted jungle, why didn't you go to a jungle party? Both Hype and BSE were in town last night. The lineup was made public long ago and clearly there was very little dnb on there. Don't go to a trance/hardstyle party and expect dnb, thats as stupid as someone walking into Loaded and expecting to hear Tiesto.

Great event!
Thanks to bomber for having me out - definately had a blast playing with Timmy Dynamic, even though the set ended a bit earlier than origonally planned.
Unabomber and SOS's set was just epic. Some of the tunes, I just haven't heard in literally years.
Sam Punk was rediculous - I really wasn't sure what to expect, but now, there's no doubt this guy was one of the sets of the night.
I caught a couple minutes of Chicklet just before I headed home, and she was still destroying the dancefloor.
And, if that chick who was getting molested in the front row of the Kathedral (or the really creepy guy who was doing it to her) is reading this, i've got pictures of you two. You look rediculously stupid. First of all, you two were both high as shit, looked like fucking retards, and neither of you could dance. Second, no, for the last time, I don't want to talk to you, and no, she is not hot. Infact, she looks like a slut (and, her actions are sure speaking volumes). Third, you're really lucky I didn't find you after you puked everywhere, including all over a few other people. You would have been dragged to the door and thrown out. I'm fucking sick and tired of the shit people like yourself bring to events.

i do have to say it was a really awesum party indeed, tons of ppl i havent seen in awhile it was good to see them & oh man DJ Caut!on oh man he freakin owned it that nite great set bro the only shitty part bout the nite was that holy jo's like wtf was being played up there & where was the jungle sets kinda disapionted with that but all & all good nite

I came late, and had to pay the "After 10pm guestlist fee".
I still had a great time though, and had lots of fun!
I was disappointed that Timmy's set got cut off after like 7 minutes though. Hope you're all having fun at the beach. <3
