I'ld just like to say that to most of you that don't know, this was a night packed with award winning and one of a kind performances that majority don't seem to appreciate.

Second of all, Big up's to eveyone that helped everything come together, considering the sound and equipment problems, but then again, nothing ever goes as planned.

I gotta say tho, I had a wicked time. good crowd and wicked tunes. Vivid props to u. happy

Awakening State performed an awesome set, even tho it was not the d'n'b that i had hoped to hear, it was pretty damn good considering it was their first ever live performance.

Poizonous was amazing, the talents that guy has were incredible. pure crowd pleaser fo'sure.

D-Syfa and outsider were good as is always to be expected

NC-17 and MC Lal were getting those vibes going proper smile
and of course Faktah and Dubbcomm definately knew how to end things with style smile

all you 'cool cats' that left early, sucks to be you, cause it's no loss to me, just more room to dance smile and enjoy da'music without bumping into everyone.

----------------special report----------------------
contrary to purerave beliefs, i am intitled to express my opinion. this is my review, not yours. so dont read it if you dont enjoy reading what i had to write.

---------------------------------------------------

soooooooooooo glad i had a backup party planned. 2 fucking hours i stood there with no dnb. i'm sorry (actually i'm not) but i dont drive an hour to listen to fucking gay rock, dubstep and beatboxing. i came for dnb. i don't care how good YOU say the acts were, i dont fucking like that shit. the only reason i came to this party in the firstplace was i was very un-cooly told that the band was gonna be playing live dnb. waste of time and money. and you wonder why there was no-one there. had a million times more fun standing in the cold.
the only thing that was worth a damn there was the lazers.
maybe you should try making the online flyers legible, if i coulda read what was going on i wouldnt have wasted my time.

.:d(-_-)b:.

since i was there from start to finish i can say that the party itself was maybe not the greatest turnout, but the talent fucking ROCKED the show.
i had never seen Awakening State before and they rocked out proper. allthough i wasnt in the mood for rock, i can still respect talent and man - do they have talent.
poizonous was fuckin insane - he always keeps me entertained.
as for the dnb performers - not all got to play, but the people who did play played very well.
outsider and d-syfa were good
Psidream - i had never seen before and i was impressed to say the least.
dubcomm and faktah (my boys) ripped it up as per usual

biggups the VIP room lol

i had a good time with awesome friends and although there wasnt alot of people there i still had a good time smile

biggup Redout and One Up Sound

big up the promoters of this party for trying to do something different!!!

they had a solid roster of very diverse artists rather than the same old lineups you see over and over again.

its good to see some people are still willing to take a chance at being different rather than following what everyone else does

first off, DCS905 did not throw this party. look at the flyers, posts, and any other promotional material and you will find that it was a party thrown by Redout & One Up Sound ... so, the harsh words towards DCS905 are totally out-of-line and misinformed.

Awaking State, the band that had they're first ever live performance for 'The Uprising' ... is comprised of DS-1 (an award winning DNB producer) and a few other dnb involved musicians... its a rock project tho, look on the flyer. in my opinion, especially for being their first show, it was incredible. the talent and effort behind each song's composition shows true skill, and surely with a few more performances under their belt, they'll be a force to rekon with... i'd love to hear more of the DNB sound come out in their tracks, so i'll surely be watching for more material!

crazy culture is an original act that performs very very rarely with their exclusive beats and live vocals... i think their performance on friday was good, and musically very tight, although it didn't have the same energy as the Gen Next 1 performance... overall they are an awesome act, and having them do a show is always a treat, because its not heard anywhere else... its also a favourite with hiphop heads, as their influence is clearly mixed between the 2 genres...

poizunus... holy fuck. what an excellent performer... the crowd had died out a bit, no doubt expecting more dnb in the early hours, but this man knows how to use a microphone. fat bass tones, crisp drum sounds, original and complex patterns, he's truly canada's #1 beatboxer and its evident why.

yes. the promoters took a bit of a leap booking so much original-non-dnb talent with a lineup of mainly dnb acts... maybe its not something toronto crowds are up for, but i truly enjoyed the variety in style and sound that were brought out for the DNB heads...

soundcheck was plauged with equipment issues, and having to setup an entire band, extensive dj rig, lasers, visuals, and all the other bs that goes with setting up an event took a little longer than expected... it wasnt even complete when the doors opened, and even during the event more equipment conked out... and wreaked some havoc on the timeslots... it happens...

d-syfa & outsider tore the place up, bringing back some more dnb flavour, and warming the crowd up for the dnb headliner of the nite "PSIDREAM" ... wow. absolutely killer performance from the BC native... its too bad that more ppl didn't stick around to see him play... there were a ton of dubplates gettin dropped!

nc-17 & mc lal ... one of my favourite acts to watch in this city. i'm biased as they're DCS905 residents, but really, they're making international waves, representing toronto to the fullest. nothing but respect for this crew.

myself and faktah got up to close the nite, played a bunch of new stuff, lots of hard bangin tekno dnb, some new ragga-flavors, and the remaining crowd seemed to appreciate the beats...

so, all in all, i had a pretty good nite... equipment problems always put a little damper on the vibe, but are truly inevitable sometimes... this was one of those times...

if you expected an all dnb party, you read the flyer wrong, because this wasn't what was billed, although there was a clear bias towards the dnb crowds...

...in conclusion, DCS905 did not throw this party. your negative comments directed at them are misinformed. thank you.

This party was alright, but I think the sound kept messing up. Good music nonetheless, especially when they played Smack My Bitch Up. love

Also, it sucks that not that many people showed up...
