Considering this was my first time partying in Toronto in two years I must say, I couldn't have picked a better party.
Much Love and Respect to all involved.
Deff going to make sure it's not another two years before I return.

Thursday April 26, 2007 - 8:00 PM
Amazing time once again Terror Inc & Proper Sounds pulls off another 1
Wednesday April 25, 2007 - 11:36 PM
Wednesday April 25, 2007 - 12:13 PM
I had a great time - I liked how the Big Bop is more of a party atmosphere than a club atmosphere.
Mad props to EMS for helping me through a scary situation...those of you who think they aren't needed, think again.
Security was fucked up and corrupt. I didn't like seeing them rob some kid of $200 right in the open. That was definitely a buzzkill. Taking drugs from people is one thing, but taking cash from someone who probably needs it for whatever reason is not cool.
UMMM WAY TOO HOT!! Do they really think that's safe at all being that the majority of people were high on something or other???
Anyway, music was great; except for the fact that I got sick, I had an awesome time. I liked it better than Kings of the Jungle.
Wednesday April 25, 2007 - 1:49 AM

I had an AMMMMAAAZZZZIIINNNNGGG time.
I went with my boyfriend, and stuck with him all night sober.
Well, not on drugs atleast.
We was just stoned.
The beats were sooooooooo kickin, I loved all the jungle.
The UV light room was maadddd trippy, I loved it.
The kids there were all friendly, like always.
EXCEPT one person who I bumped into while dancing just starting bitching at me, and saying I was wearin ugly clothes.
Geees, why do people have to pick on other people who like to play around with their clothes?!?
Well.
Fuck him, I dont care.
I had an amazing time, I even got in fo free yo.
I hope all you kids had a great time!!
Cant wait for next 420!

Timmy, you made my night, dude! Congrats to Terror Inc., amazing job.
By the way, did anyone lose a short black hoody with flowers stiched on the bottom and the sleeve? We ended up bringing it home accidentally thinking it was one of ours. Let me know and describe it in better detail and we'll get it back to you. :3

so much rave in a single nite... i dont know what to say!
was my first time playing for the terror inc crew, i had an amazing time... there were some sound issues in the cube, but it was mainly due to the humidity in there... the set that robtat and i laid down was fuckin HARD... dark nasty beats from beginning to end... with a reload called (by me) on the new Def Ltd. tune from masheen "resin" ... what a fuckin stormer!
all in all, had a great nite, with great ppl, great songs, and a very well thrown event! large the fuck up terror inc!

Monday April 23, 2007 - 2:21 AM
Had a blast!
Party was packed right from the get-go. Great tunes from Johnny Funk, would love to see more of him around Toronto parties.
Spent a LOT of time socializing and met a lot of new people, which was great. Lots of new faces which was also great and a lot of new kandie kids as well as all the veterans and that was REALLY great to see.
Caught some of Fuzzboy which was good times as usual, and eXt had my favourite set of the Hardcore room. Just Rich was a bit disappointing but I expect he was hurt by not having CDJs to play his unreleased stuff on.
I also didn't get a chance to drop any unreleased stuff (I had some new stuff from England too, boo) but I have to say a huge thanks to the many people who showed up for my set at 3, you all were absolutely havin' it and we took it right to the end of the night without losing a soul. Happy 4:20 indeed, and a very happy rave!
All around had an absolute blast, one of my favourite raves this year so far. 2007 is really shaping up beautifully. Much respect to Terror Inc and all who helped put the show on, and also much respect to the Bop staff - I had top notch sound support in my room from the Big Bop Raver and had no technical issues, and security was excellent as always.
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 10:29 PM
OK first Pocket... GET OUT TO PARTIES MORE.... like honestly... WORST PARTY EVER!!!....
too many lil mashed the fuck out kiddies.. like honestly, go home and play hide and seek, or colour... dont do shit loads of drugs when your fuckin 14-15 like wtf? where are the parents?
and the price to get in even if you bought an advanced ticket... HOLY FUCK.... now im not saying this cuz im cheap cuz ... not the issue, I had no problem paying $20/person to get in... (me and my girlfriend)...so when we come in we see that the timeslots are not on time... never usually are for smaller scale parties... hey if its said time for next dj to get on... GET THE FUCK OFF THE DECKS!!!, no " one more, just hold on", type shit...keep the party moving, and please, just cause you think its a good track doesnt mean the crowd wants to hear it again... limit your damn rewinds, to a minimum or non at all.... so after hearing a bunch of over played ragga tunes, capitol j
comes on, seen him before, pretty good pretty good I must say.... but, not this time... his scratching was horrible, reminded me of me tryin to scratch.... beat juggling was ok but more he went the more he lost it...and hes all hype'n' up these smoke weed tracks, when in all actuality, capitol j doesnt smoke weed ahahahaha
Question?
Can you count to 4?
young e-tarded toronto ravers... learn to dance.... to the fuckin beat... holy fuck its not hard, stop randomly jumping and kicking your feet... ok im sure you "love jungle" but next time try paying attention to the actual beat of the music and maybe not taking as many pills ahahaha... might help....
But I really did like the perceptor, toronto promoters need to start booking dj's like this more often instead of a bunch of ragga jungle djs that all play the same tracks...cuz well you hear the same tunes over and over and over again... and frankly ragga hasnt changed since 2000-2002, its true, hasnt really changed in sound at all, and tracks pretty much have the same sound and feel....
hope to see some bigger things from these promoters...
as well I like to add, hoova... this guy could go somewhere in the future.... big ups, nice job done ....
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 10:25 PM
Kickass night! Good job, guys.
Favourite sets were Kamikaze & Dave the Drummer..
Great vibe.

Sunday April 22, 2007 - 6:54 PM
fuck this party....AND WERE IS THERE SUMTHING SAYING THAT IF U DIDNT GO TO THE PARTY U CANT WRITE A REVEIW
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 6:17 PM
I went drunk, and enjoyed every min of it.
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 4:45 PM
every time i went into a different room the music was good. only thing that sucked is i had really dry eyes and couldn't stop blinking haha. so yeah, i pretty much just had a good fun time exhausted myself for dave the drummer, so after that it was all somewhat relative haha. there weren't too many of those retards in the crows, y'know, the ones always pushing you outta the way for some reason or something to that extent. the weather was just right for us people who could go in'n'out for whatever reason. all in all, i had a fun time, and that's all that matters!
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 4:32 PM
The best Big Bop party I've ever gone to. =o
-Got in for free cause my friend paid.
-Went w. the best people in the world.
-No sketchy afterparty, just went home and slept.
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 4:25 PM
I had the most fucking fun I have had at a rave at 420 Massive. I loved how it was packed full of awesome people. We just went from room to room dancing... I don't know who was playing at what time but I loved all of it. Awesome tunes, great atmosphere. I always look forward to events by terror Inc. Keep up the good work everyone who made it happen! (that includes the ravers!)
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 3:42 PM
I had a wicked time, while I was there.
Good crowd, hope people liked my set (I played right after Cap. J), that's how we do it in the states... rough & rugged.
Big up Unabomber/Terror Inc. for having me play, and Bryan for the vocal duties.
Cheers, Perceptor.

AND MEGA PROPS TO SCOTT.FREE & KRISZTA FOR SHOWING ME AROUND THE CITY!
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 1:55 PM
Deffinately a slamming party. The place was packed really tight with people in some places, but after a while it seemed like you could at least move fairly easily. Dave the Drummer was wicked and played different set then I expected. He really knows how to master a crowd. I didnt appear that he played a for as long as he was going to because of the skipping and young candy crackers constantly jumping up and down on the stage.
Since I spent most of the night by the door, I say the best set downstairs for the night was by far Jelo. His first five tracks ripped it. Who needs Dj Dan or Bad Boy Bill when you have Jelo around?! Seriously. 420 was a great party. To bad our ride was vandalized sometime during the event.
Sunday April 22, 2007 - 12:49 PM
I'm glad everyone had fun !!! From the Security point of view the Rave was AWESOME and we only had a vary few bad apples in the bunch (you know who you are) other then that we all had a great time! And like daveoftherave said in the first comment and I quote !
(Please respect security; they are there for you and your safety. Most security guards are nice, reasonable people. If you feel that a security guard is not being professional find someone in charge of the party or bring it up afterwards. At respectable clubs like the Big Bop those security guards will be fired. Please understand that a security guard is putting his or her life on the line for your protection - they may seem like jerks, but the first time someone tries to smuggle a gun into a club and security finds it and arrests that person, you'll know how valuable they are.)
I do know sometime people feel like they are "singled out" but if you feel that then you must have done some thing for 1 of us to talk to you. and for the GIRLS, PLEASE don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable if anyone in any way makes you loose your Happy, DO NOT HESITATE to find one of us this is how we keep RAVES save for all! and for the boys we just want everyone to have fun so leave your big bad macho ATTITUDE @ home because it creates bad energy and it make SECURITY stressed out and you all don't want to see stressed out Security guys do you ???
If you are drinking underage and we catch you don't be stupid just hand it over!!!
and if you are planning to do drugs remember they are illegal and YES we do have the legal right to confiscate any and all drugs on your person ( in way of a legal body pat down and pocket search ) feel lucky that some of the Security guys like myself give you the option of "I take it you stay" or " you keep it and leave" AGAIN for your protection
Good job terror inc. hope to see you again soon !
HAPPY RAVE EVERYBODY!

Saturday April 21, 2007 - 5:29 PM
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 5:23 PM
420 Massive
Was huge.
As in, it was over capacity.
In fact, initially they denied me entry because "guest list was closed".
Then I got a bunch of people, including Kevin, FLIM, and Akiva to search for Christian to let me in. No such luck, because at that point he was already spinning.
Akiva got me past the security (he must have known one of them) and then upon approaching the desk, I was told that "guest list is $10".
I refused to pay, and told the girl at the desk that FLIM was looking for someone to authorize my getting in free.
I stood about for 15 minutes, got bored, then whipped out my camera gear to just "be ready". Upon seeing my camera, she called me to the desk and told me that she didn't know that I was a photographer, and then said that she recognized me from past events and such. She said that guest was actually $10, but she felt bad and liked my pictures, so let me in. blush
I couldn't believe the enormous crowd inside, adn how much was going on at once.
5 rooms open in the reverb complex! wow
I can honestly say that I've never been down to "the dungeon" prior to last night, but boy was it sketchy. yay for 2 foot wide corridors.
There were a lot of new faces, including some really young kids. These kids appear to be why TRIPP exists. These people were such party newbs that they didn't even know how to crack open a glowstick.
After getting through the mass crowds of people, and the initial shock of being consumed in that environment, I sough out friends (so many people I knew were there!), began taking pictures, and found rooms that I liked.
Dave the Drummer was pretty sick, though my favourite two sets were probably Timmy (yay for HHC! It really made me happy ::blush:smile and Capital J (that man can scratch like mad! It's so rare to see people scratching live these days).
There was some sort of weird fight that went on between Fat Spliff and some guy who was easily twice his size. There was some spitting, name-calling, and shoving, but I'm glad that nobody got hurt. That would have been a shitty end to a night.
Some great sets, great crowd, great friends, and yeah... Good times!
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 5:03 PM
Very awesome rave. It's too bad I missed the surprise DJs. Oh well.
I didn't like that coat check didn't open until 10. Not that I had anything to check, but my friend didn't wanna dance til she checked her bag and it was her first rave.
Got to dance on stage during D.A.V.E. the Drummer. You all loved me. You know it.
I'm not sure if I like having that many rooms... Or at least that many stairs. I got lost a few times and getting up and down stairs was kind of difficult.
The Cube was pro. Loved the lighting and the music.
I was so tired by the end... The last hour I was forcing myself to dance. When I stopped, I almost passed out.
Almost as good as Together As One. It was a few of my friends' first rave, and they loved it. Thanks to everyone for keepin' up the PLURR!!
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 4:45 PM
Overall a great party
Both Dubcomm and I gave many warnings we were playing harder and heavier then usual (its called stomp the kittens, not pet the pussy) and thats what we did. Some people looked terrified, others loved it. Both results pleased me The sound issues in the Cube were a bitch to deal with bit ah well, shit happens. All the sets I caught were pretty bloody amazing, everyone brought their A game from what I heard.
good music + good crowd = good party
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 4:38 PM
had an alright time.. came for mr Johnny Vella and D.A.V.E. The Drummer. glad the sketchyness wasn't that bad at the party / the kids must be growing up. mainly hung around up front with friends (you know, the oldies, that was us. friends make the night)
overall decent sets. walked in and caught Mr Vella spinning a -great- techno set. 2 pts dood. love Jelo's electro/big beat track selection, got me sorta bopping too.
left during D.A.V.E's set though, due to tiredness. also, the skipping needs every 3-5mins really ruined it. it wasn't due to people being on stage this time. bleh. but whatever! still a 3/5 partay for an oldie moldy like me.
glad to get out of the house to be honest. thanks mona
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 4:38 PM
Big 5 room rave.
Fun times all over the place.
Jeph and I killed it earlier in the cube, rammed straight fron the beginning to the end.
Perceptor and I rocked the hard nastiness later on and Kathedral was bumping for that.
Biggup Terror Inc & Proper Sounds.
Thanks for having me.
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 4:21 PM
I had an amazing time.
It was so much hassle to actually get to the party, but it was well worth it.
Capital J and Rex Manning were both fucking killer.
I haven't been to a rave that sweet since.. Together As One.
I always thought that no other party could top TAO, but if this one didn't, it definitely tied.
<3

Amazing party, I haven't enjoyed the Big Bop like this in a looooong time! The five room massive is a wonderful feeling.
So many fun, new people! But holy shit - JELO SPINNING TECHNO was completely insane!
Thanks Dave, that should be required reading. Generation Next is shaping up to be a good one
Saturday April 21, 2007 - 5:37 AM
Welcome! Whether this is your first rave or your fiftieth, there is always more to know about the community we all belong to. It is our hope to provide you with the information you deserve, to ensure a healthy and happy rave experience time and again.
History:
The Toronto rave community is one of the biggest in North America, with one of the richest and longest histories. However, that wasn't always the case. In fact, not long ago we we almost lost it all.
As the 20th century drew to a close, the Toronto scene was at the top of its game. Massive events regularly drew tens of thousands; production and promotion intensity were at an all time high. But a storm was brewing in the city at large, and the rave community an into massive legal problems. Raves were banned on city owned property; police regularly showed up at parties demanding entry to search the premises; steps were even being taken to ban raves outright. Toronto's own Chief of Police, Julian Fantino, claimed to have seized a cache of weapons from a rave in an attempt to rally public support against us - a claim later proven to be a lie. Hopes were dim for the dance and music community.
However, then as now, we were united. A lengthy legal battle - involving several attorneys and city councilors - was waged in the courts, but it is on the dancefloor and through music that we have our true strength, and it is through music that the difference was made. In August of 2000, the i-Dance rally - held right on the steps of Toronto City Hall - brought home to the politicians and police that we weren't terrorists or threats, but rather their own friends and relatives, seeking nothing more than a safe environment to enjoy our passion - music. This combined effort finally brought an end to the bans and massive police scrutiny. It was a long, hard struggle that has been repeated in many cities, but rarely with so successful an outcome. Raves remain illegal throughout much of the United States and even parts of Canada. So when you come out and enjoy top notch musical talent from around the planet, secure in the knowledge that your right to dance has been secured, kindly respect the venues and events that we have today, for they have been earned on the efforts and struggles of the ravers who came before.
Preparation:
One of the great things about the rave community is our sense of acceptance. You can dance how you like, date who you like, listen to what you like, and dress any way you like. However, there are some practical considerations you may wish to keep in mind. You're going to work up quite a sweat when you start dancing, and so you may wish to consider wearing comfortable, light clothing. In addition, sneakers will generally make more sense than dress shoes if you plan to exert yourself on the dance floor - uncomfortable footgear can really dampen your experience and can even lead to back pain and general soreness. If you smoke - and remember that you can only smoke legally if you're over 19, and that this is a government law and consequently MUST be enforced - it isn't a bad idea to bring an old sweater as well that you can stash in a corner for your smoke breaks, or even just to get fresh air.
Be aware that things do not always go as planned. Bring at least 20$ that you don't plan on spending. Don't spend it either except for unforseen expenses. You never know when you just might need a cab ride home in an emergency.
Eat and drink properly the day of the event. Being fully hydrated is especially important if you are going to drink. Eating and drinking properly also ensures you have the most amount of energy to last all night.
It is the music that built our scene, and it is the music that sustains us. Toronto is home to some of the finest and most talented DJs and MCs on the planet. Find out who is playing and what they are playing. Then find out the timeslots so you can plan your night out. Start becoming acquainted with the different genres. Then get to know the different DJs in those genres. Find out what you like. Don't be afraid to ask people who and what is playing.
You are 100% fully encouraged to go grab the DJ after his/her set and ask him/her any questions yourself. Just make sure the set is over. Be respectful while the music is playing - if you want to dance on stage or (if there's no stage) directly in front of the DJ, make sure it's ok with the performers and don't skip the turntables.
Drug use and underage drinking are illegal. Always remember that. If a security guard removes you or a friend because of drug use or underage drinking, be respectful - the law has been broken and they are simply doing their job. Moreover, they are protecting future raves, which are placed in jeopardy whenever the law is broken.
If you should choose to partake in drug use, it is important to be educated. Some websites you should check out to educate yourself further on their harmful effects, proper dose and safer methods of use include:
www.erowid.org - The best website for drug information. Always look up drugs here before you do them.
www.pillreports.com - For those that will be taking ecstasy. Find the Canada page and familiarize yourself with the pills that are circulating right now. Anyone can post on this site so there is some misinformation but you can get a good feel for the different pills if you read enough. Remember that colour, size and stamp don't mean anything.
www.tripproject.ca/ - The Toronto Raver Info Project is a government funded organization that neither condones nor condemns the use of any drug and instead provides information to help people make more informed choices. More on this organization later.
Remember - word of mouth and conjecture is rarely accurate when it comes to drugs (or, indeed, anything else).
If you are going to drink or consume drugs at the event, please be considerate. We all know about the dangers of overconsumption so there is no need to go into details here. We simply ask that you be considerate of yourself and others while drinking, and know your limits. If you exceed your limits, understand and trust that you are in a safe place and allow security or the medical staff to take care of you. Never attempt to counteract overindulgence with other drugs! If a friend of yours has overindulged, seek real help immediately. If you don't know where to find help, ask anyone - once again, you are in a safe community and people will be glad to oblige.
During the Rave:
Dance. Seriously. The best way to contribute to the vibe and get the most out of the night is to dance. Don't worry about how you look either. The whole idea of raving is that it doesn't matter, just have fun.
Make sure you strech at the beginning of the night. Dancing is some crazy aerobic exercise, you don't want to be sore in the morning.
You get out of a rave exactly what you put into it. Raving is the time to release all of your pent up energy into something positive. If you contribute to the vibe and energy you will have a great time. If you aren't having fun, try and reasonably consider why. Then try to address the situation. It is up to you to have fun, and although there are few places more "fun-conducive" than a rave, if you aren't having a good time it is on you to figure out why and address it.
Talk to some of the older folk. You already have a lot in common. Remember, they must love raving a lot if they've stuck it out for this long and keep going back.
If you need help, get it! Find the TRIP booth. It is what they are there for. If they've already packed up or aren't there find someone who looks like they could help - maybe one of those older folks you were talking to earlier. Always remember that we all want to have a safe, fun night. There is no reason for anyone to have a bad experience at a rave, ever. Just as back in the days of iDance, we are all in this together and the majority of us are more than willing to help a raver in trouble. Similarly, if someone asks you for help, don't be dismissive or rude - if you are unable to help simply say so, and if you are able to help, there's rarely a reason not to.
Please keep your shirt on. This is for hygenic reasons; additionally, it makes other people uncomfortable. If you feel you are too hot take a breather, drink some water or take off your hat. Taking off your shirt may psychologically make you feel cooler but you are doing little to prevent overheating by doing so.
Please respect security; they are there for you and your safety. Most security guards are nice, reasonable people. If you feel that a security guard is not being professional, find someone in charge of the party or bring it up afterwards. At respectable clubs like the Big Bop those security guards will be fired. Please understand that a security guard is putting his or her life on the line for your protection - they may seem like jerks, but the first time someone tries to smuggle a gun into a club and security finds it and arrests that person, you'll know how valuable they are.
Please respect the venue. There are very few venues left in Toronto that will host all age raves. Treat the venue the way you would want your own private space to be treated. Use the trashcan, use the washroom properly, and use the dance floor for dancing.
Most of all remember to have fun.
Post Rave:
Once the rave is over, you don't have to go home - but you can't stay here. Remember that you just stayed up all night dancing, and you're going to be tired.
If you're driving home, the person in the passenger seat must stay awake and talking to you. This is essential to a safe drive home. It is all too easy to fall asleep while driving and this remains a major source of automobile injuries.
Chill sessions or full on after parties are a lot of fun and if you so desire they are often easy to come across. Ravers really DO go all night! Please keep in mind that it will be easy to be irritable as you'll be quite tired, so make sure you spend the time chilling out and relaxing, and be aware of the influence on your mood.
If you did some ecstasy the night before or even if you just can't get to sleep, an over the counter supplement known as 5-htp is highly recommended. You can pick it up at any health food store and any experienced raver can tell you that it is a worthwhile investment. It will restore your serotonin levels to normal and will cause drowsiness. Like any other drowsiness-inducing supplement, stay away from driving or operating heavy machinery while using it. Turntables do not count as heavy machinery so play away!
Sleep well, and we hope to see you at many more events in the future!
