everything was fucking sick about this party.

the music, decor, vibe, crowd, promoters, reason for party.

all of it was great.

the music in both rooms was great.
to the person complaining about the "jungle/breaks room", i think you may not have noticed that at least 2 of the acts playing were neither of those styles of music, thusly making it the second room not the "breaks/jungle room". the grime and techno sets fuckign ruled. hehehehe

ZZ Bottum was hands down the best set of my night. love the grime.

congrats to phil and lisa on your first joint venture. i wanna see more.

BLACKLIGHTS & ART WAS SUPERB.

The decorations and lights really made a great vibe.
Amazing job to everyone who organized and helped with this event.

i realy liked this event. it was done very well. it was great to see. i think more promoters should take note from this party, this party definetly set the bar higher which is great. over all the music was good too. the people where great as well.

WOW.. what can one say.. this gig was SO MUCH FUN

Showed up around 11ish and was pleased to see Opel up on the decks rocking the crowed like no other. Man you could tell the vibe in the place was going to be a good one right off the bat.
Next up was the Birthday Girl herself… Miss Lady Bass and the infamous Ken Finch.. man once these two got going I was starting think how the hell I was going to be able to follow that set and keep that crowd rock’n.. eeek… O and doing with out a monitor for most of their set (BIG HAT’S OFF)
Well… so now it’s my turn.. first time playing a prime time main room slot in Toronto and all I have to say is.. THANK YOU!!!!

Thank you too:

1. The Crowd: You guys freek’n rocked man.. from beginning to the end you guys didn’t stop, responded like no other and kept that floor packed.. this is the true reason as to why we do what we love to do.. simply amazing. Thanks for the props after the set as well for those that got a CD.. please enjoy

2. Lady Bass & Phil: Wow.. I have to say first congratz on such an amazing event. My wife and I was saying that not only was there such a great vibe in the place but this was the first time in a long, long time that we had this much fun at a party. I hope it was what you were looking for to help celibrate your birthday's and it was my pleasure to play for you. Can’t wait to do it again .. and Lisa sorry for the Novel of a card hope you had a chance to read it.. hahah.. LOL at our age it's always good to keep the brain working.. hehe

3. The Dj’s: Being a somewhat outsider the Toronto scene (Northern Ontario Dj) I couldn’t of felt more welcomed and accepted. All of you rocked it that night and showed me and my friends once again how much talent we have right here in Canada. It was a pleasure hanging out and can’t wait to see you all again soon. O and Bomber.. your too fucking funny man.. lol

4. Dharma Lab: WOW… after that show I totally saw why Lisa brought you guys up to rock the crowd. What a show.. I always love to see dj’s put on a show and that is exactly what you two did. First time I’ve seen the combination of Live vs. Dj and it was well worth it It was my pleasure to help keep the transition between sets as smooth as possible cause in the end it’s all about the show. Look forward to seeing ya’s again

Well that about sums it up… one amazing night, amazing people, amazing music, amazing vibe. What else could someone ask for.. O Wait.. FOR IT ALL TO HAPPEN AGAIN.. LOL

thank you for the birthday wishes everyone!! and thanks for an awesome party! i can't even beging to describe how amazing it was from both a party and personal stand point. everything turned out exactly how i wanted it too... and it was so much fun with so many people. for all of those who couldn't make it... you were missed and thanks for the birthday wishes. for everyone who was there - thank you for coming. i hope you all had a good time!

to the djs from the party - thanks for playing such awesome sets! sorry about the skippy decks...(especially you trixie!) and thanks for driving such long distances to play too... Buffalo, Sudbury, London, Kitchener... and locally of course! Dharma Lab - thanks for the awesomeness. You guys are always amazing!! Thanks for the help with the UV artists too... that brings me to my next thanks. The artwork last night - wow - that was everything i had imagined and more... ! It was so nice to have a glowing dance floor and such amazing art on the walls!! thank you!

Robotpilot - thanks for the amazing booth - the clothes were awesome...
Trip! sorry about the incident but i'm glad it got resolved. THanks for having a booth there!

Funhaus is such an awesome venue to work with and it was nice to transform the club into something else for 1 night last night! Thanks for working so well and easily with us! The staff and management are awesome!

And last but not least - thank you Phil for putting Blacklight Birthday Beats together with me. We threw a really fun and well attended party and we got to have fun too. Thanks so much for everything... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

OK OK OK....


Took me till today to get my thoughts about this party together...

First of all, just the over-all vibe as soon as I walked up the stairs was pretty amazing... There was something in the air, that much is for sure....

Second, everyone that I spoke with was very friendly and I didnt really encounter any sketch... (possibly 'cause I wasnt wearing my glasses, but we'll give it the benefit of the doubt)

AND THIRD... wow... I don't think I've EVER had so much fun playing tunes anywhere...

ALL IN ALL... 5 stars.... FOR SURE

Definitely an old school vibe at the party... Aside with some technical problems which I can't really blame the DJ for (Trixie I'd love to hear a proper set of yours sometime) all the DJ's were on the money. The decorations were awesome.. You could tell that the promoters put some serious thought and effort into making the place look awesome. Some seriously good dancers out there lastnight.. I'm glad to see that liquiding is still kickin and that there is new blood out there that want to learn.

As for the crew.. I kept on saying it throughout the night, but we all should make an effort to get together sometime... We're all too much fun not to meet up.

I had an absolute freakin' blast.

I rocked it until Dharma Lab finsihed, then it was time to get my tired ass home.

So many people packed in that place, with phenominal music. ZZ Botums set was my favorite for the night, along with Dharma Lab. I was really hoping on spending mroe time in the back room, as I really wanted to see Mike Conradi and Xofer tear it up. but, unfortunately that room was way too hot in my state, so i tried to stay in better ventilated areas.

The decor was amazing, and definately made for a fun time walking around and just zoning out for a bit.

Congrats to Lisa and Phil for a phantastic party. DEfinately helped continue the trend of Top-Notch parties in 2007.

Like woah.

i havent been to a good party at the funhaus in ages this was a nice refresher
the "bringin sexy back" room(which btw was sexy as hel haha) was a lil on the quiet side at first but it was fixed rather quickly wOOt!

The music was amazing, the people were chilling, and the vibe was to die for.

Some fucking asshole pushed my friend against the wall and took an upskirt photo of her.... (i heard about it afterwards), the bouncers got him and kicked him out (hopefully roughed him up a bit).

Great party, DJ's kicked it, it was MUCH COOLER than last Darkrave was, despite being in the same venue. I really enjoyed all of the glowing artwork, and of course, the music. A larger review will be up within the next day or so (in my journal).

definitely a five star event

lady bass n phil can sure throw an awesome party

was lookin forward to this one for quite some time..and usually when you do that it doesn't turn out as good as you expected..however, this party surpassed the idea of a good time

didn't stay very late..but i got there super early so from the sets i heard, every dj did a wicked job =D
reeeeeally enjoyed the grime from zz bottom..
hadn't heard much of the genre before.. but i instantly fell in love
damn!

the decor looked pretty awesome too.. when do you ever see the funhaus look That good?

also, did anyone else notice that this party wasn't sketchy? it ran super smoothly and all the ravers/parties seemed to be handling themselves and just havin a blast..

great music. great people. a great birthday for lady bass n bigpoppa ...all in all on a great time =D

Got there at about 8:30 cause I thought the line was going to be ridiculously long like it was at darkrave, I was pleasently supprised to see that the line really short. Got in in no time, and for once I went to the funhaus and the walls werent sweating ^_^

Saw a lot of friends, made some new friends, took a lot of pictures and left early to go to my friends house.

Great music, great vibe.

The only bad thing was that I went with my new shoes that werent nice to dance in, they were too big and had no laces, everytime I started dancing my feet would cramp up >.<

Amazing party. Every DJ I heard fucking killed it. Awesome vibe inside, had a weeeeeeee bit too much to drink but ah well. Impromptu set with Dubcomm was a blast. Not too amny people I'll give up a solo set to play with, but he's definitely one of them. Good times as always.

One the best parties Ive been to ....

We got there at 9 thinking it was gonna be super busy but is wasn't too bad & we got in in no time ....At first the front room was having some tech issues with needles skipping but that was quickly resolved when DJ OPEL came on...After that the club was jammin'

HUGE props go out to Lady Bass & Gta:xp and all the DJs that came out...ALL you guys dropped some sweetass beats

I was also really glad to see SOOO many of my peeps out for this one and especially to those I rarely see

Steve-O? ...I can't wait to see how your pics (that I took using your camera) turn out


Oh and I almost forgot to add.....DHARMA LAB FUCKING RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was pleasently suprised to see a pretty packed house upon arriving last nite, got there around 1, had as much booze as my wallet would allow... lots of laughs n shit, the catacomb boys are wikid to party with...

massive biggups to scartat, who entirely made my night by letting me play some tunes with him. fockin sick. the crowd was dying out but we played some heavy beats! biggup rob! i wont forget it!

must admit, the first 3 sets in the back room were the greatest I heard..then again, i left at 2.

definitely an interesting mix of people... ravers, junglists, goths, emo/punk, some dude that looked like a fluorescent construction worker, youngins, older people too... fun diversity (ooo and one boy with the most gorgeous face and wearing a stripped shirt), and it wasnt too packed--i could bounce, hop and dance and not really worry about stepping on someone's toes.
